  1. I've been saying that all year. However, you can't let it cost you games at this point. My usual disagreement is not having Kepler START vs LHP. I actually have no problem pinch hitting for him there.
  2. Note that the NL team isn't bunting.
  3. I guess I haven't looked at splits in awhile. Last I looked, Ehire was better vs RHP.
  4. So, Kepler, Adrianza, Vargas, Garver or Giminez? Garver's probably the best statistical option.
  5. I didn't think so. He looked clearly on the bag when Myers' glove moves with the impact of the ball.
  6. I'm sure they know it. But it kinda defies conventional wisdom. I know he's not an extreme sidearmer like Tekulve, Eichhorn or Frohwirth, but those guys all killed RHB.
  7. It is wierd that Hildenberger has reverse splits. Righties are hitting him much better than lefties. That's the third HR he has allowed to a RHB in fewer than 100 PA.
  8. Surprised Escobar didn't bunt. Castro should definitely be.
  9. Here comes another ******* bunt
  10. Post 1986, you can probably count on one hand the number of times Kirby Puckett was asked to lay down a sacrifice bunt. Not saying Polanco is Kirby, but he is the third place hitter and this at least the third time he has bunted this MONTH.
  11. That bunt I did not like. Polanco is arguably your best hitter right now. He needs to be swinging.
  12. Just to repeat. .900 OPS third time through for Lamet.
  13. At normal speed, I thought it hit off his foot too. On replay, it certainly isn't conclusive.
  14. Either my hearing or Bremer's is going. I thought I heard two ticks on the replay.
  15. Given Lamet's splits, I don't hate the idea. Don't love it in the 4th. But it's certainly not the worst situation the Twins have tried to bunt in this week.
  16. That would be my guess. You expect Polanco to make contact. That's his game. That's why you start Mauer. He should be swinging because the pitch was a strike anyway.
  17. Given the choice, I'd prefer Moustakas over Hosmer. Clearly, the Twins need a plan B at third. Miguel Sano has not started even 80 games there this year. Escobar has filled in admirably, but I really have a hard time beliving he is a .766 OPS, almost 20 HR guy - if he finishes that high, it would be a career best. He's certainly not the 1.100 OPS guy that we've seen in September.
  18. Hmm, Bremer was just saying that Erv only has 3 starts left. Doesn't he have to start one more? He said his last scheduled start is Saturday, Sept 23. He could start the 28th with Mejia (or perhaps Colon) being skipped. Or the 29th on extra rest. But if he starts on the 29th, he would be on short rest for the Wild Card game scheduled for Oct 3. Edit: Never mind. I can't count tonight I guess.
  19. Again Rosario with a head scratcher on the bases. If Rosario is on second base and the ball goes over the center fielder's head, he walks home.
  20. No worries. We got a guy out there (as Torii would say).
  21. Probably why Lamet is averaging 5 1/3 IP per start. He's dominant the first time. Still pretty good the second time, but not quite as dominant. After the second time, forget about it. .902 OPS third time around.
