No one knows what a strike is tonight. Supposedly, umpires get evaluated using basically the same technology they use for the strike zone on fsn. Tichenor’s grade tonight is not going to be good.
May is probably capable of handling the workload of a reliever as long as he doesn’t get overworked. Like earlier this year, there was a WEEK in which Zach Duke (of all people) had FOUR 20 pitch outings. Can’t do that and expect anyone to remain healthy or effective. In this day and age, I’m not sure a #3 starter (which is probably May’s ceiling) is more valuable than a shut down reliever. It’s close.
Of course, if they don’t resume tonight and try to play two tomorrow, they won’t need to send anyone down. They’ll have a 26th man. I don’t think there’s any chance they get two games in tomorrow, but they might schedule it. They’ll be lucky to get one.
Any speculation as to “now what”? Rain doesn’t look like it will stop until about 11. Will they really wait that long? Tomorrow looks like rain pretty much all day. They’ll be lucky to get one in let alone two.
It is about what the FO supposedly knows that “we” don’t and presumably the FO of the THREE teams that already let Drake go THIS YEAR don’t know. If they can be wrong about Belisle, and I have seen no one who thinks they are right, they can be wrong about others. There’s a lot of smart people on this site. A lot of them have been watching baseball for longer than Falvey has been alive.
