  1. Meanwhile, Logan Morrison gets MLB at bats for no particular reason.
  2. Sounds like you are questioning his credibility. Care to offer evidence other than what an “unnamed source” allegedly told a radio personality? If there were clubhouse issues, you don’t think some of the local columnists would have stirred that pot weeks ago?
  3. Except that there is no indication from the FO or the manager that they intend to do that. If they did, where are Wade, Romero, Busenitz, Curtiss, and even add Tyler Austin to the list?
  4. That probably isn’t a pitch Sano should swing at ahead 3-1. According to gameday, it was a slider on the border of low and outside. It probably would be called, but the 3-2 pitch is probably a better pitch.
  5. How far does Mejia figure to go here after throwing 40 pitches Sunday? He’s at about 80 now. Maybe send him out for the 6th, but I’d be ready to get him at the first sign of trouble.
  6. I’ll say this: the Twins have trotted out far worse over the last two years. Probably 40-50 starts worth of worse. Half of those likely should have gone to Mejia.
  7. .513 the rest of the way still leaves them sub .500. That’s as much math as I am willing to do.
  8. Carrasco threw 3 balls to Polanco. He must be tiring...
  9. 28 pitches. 24 strikes. The image that comes to my head is Chewie mumbling when Leia plants one on Luke in Empire Strikes Back.
  10. Sure, but there is potential fan backlash there. If he chooses to retire, there is none. As for “conspiracy theory”, I’m not saying that was their primary goal, but I’d say their jobs are made less complicated if Mauer doesn’t want to return.
  11. And despite putting up good numbers, Washington made no effort to retain him and no other team made a better offer. What does that tell you about how teams felt about him?
  12. And maybe that was the point all along. To make Mauer not want to return. As long as he is here, it prevents Falvine from making this team theirs.
  13. You seriously expect them to do that? Edit: After re-reading, this could be interpreted to mean that you are asking TD writers to evaluate. Which would be a perfectly logical and appropriate request. I thought you meant the Twins braintrust. Which would not be IMO.
  14. Seeing as how it is pretty clear that they want Molitor out, that seems unlikely. And even if he does, that is not Molitor’s job. If they allow the manager that kind of authority, the FO isn’t doing their job. Sure, they seek input. But at the end of the day, they need to make the decision and be held accountable for it.
  15. Yet, incredibly, these two are the only guys that have given Matt Belisle a guaranteed MLB contract since 2016. And they have done it TWICE. Doesn’t really jibe with them being smart or knowing what they are doing. Unless you think 29 other FO teams are stupid.
  16. According to whom? I would say that was “supposed” to be Sano or Buxton.
