  1. I think the league wouldn’t be too happy if he told the media to go **** themselves so he comes out with his generic pre planned responses just so he can cross talking to the media off his list.
  2. Okay so what is worse, allowing a starter to face the lineup a third time, or using 4 or 5 relievers every game.
  3. Just another nail in the coffin
  4. So sad, they’re supposed to be going for the sweep today. I don’t believe they want it.
  5. I stopped watching in the middle of the 8th when the Twins were up 3-0. I said to myself, ‘if they blow this one I don’t want to see it’. Don’t blame me, I’m glad I didn’t see it.
  6. Usually the case with the Twins it seems
  7. He slid past the bag, that’s always been an out, even before replay .
  8. Really, I learned in Little League you can’t overrun 2nd base. It’s a good rule.
  9. Worst basrunning team I’ve ever seen
  10. Nobody said there would be math
  11. They have a losing record closing in on the last 3 months. Their starting pitching is, quite frankly, pathetic. 5 innings is a struggle for most of the Twins starts. Expecting 9 relievers to win most of your games is not a good strategy. There offense is dull and mundane. They could turn things around and easily win their division, but they don’t look like a team that’s going to do that. I’m not sure they have it in them. They seem to be content to just drop to third place and try again next year.
  12. Well, since the idea was was just thrown out there as just a matter of fact, I figured my response was appropriate, but thanks for your help
  13. Bust the players union? ????
  14. That’s a lot of hype, never just one side
  15. There’s always more to it than just the headline talking points ….. I’ve negotiated contracts, voting for salary caps would be ridiculous
  16. For me the bottom line is this. Before Merrifield made contact with Sanchez, he had possession of the ball. Even if it was a split second before, he had the ball. There is no block if he has the ball, that’s is the rule! So no matter where Sanchez was since he had the ball, he has a right to the baseline. These same umpires in NY made another similar call in the Orioles Pirates game. They got that one wrong too. The catcher caught the ball before the runner made contact. He has to be called out. These two particular umps in NY need to be fired. Baseball is a game of bang bang plays, in both cases the catchers had the ball before contact is made, a split second before maybe, but before is before. It would help if umpires actually understood the rules. There is an easy fix for this. Make the catcher blocking the plate rule non reviewable and leave it up to the umps on the field.
  17. Micromanaging replays has always been my fear about replay reviews. They ruined a great play, one of the most exciting plays in baseball, and by doing that ruined the game.
  18. He literally ran right down the baseline
  19. That’s the big deal there. If you going to have replay and right some wrongs that’s fine. But to overturn the correct call, a call that has been made correctly for over 150 yrs?!? What do they do now? They have to address it. Sanchez had the ball, the sliding lane only is an issue if the catcher does not have the ball. The Twins should protest and at least force them to explain their position.
  20. Are the Twins protesting the game
  21. If you got the ball the baseline belongs to you, you do not have to give the runner a lane, that’s baseball. This catcher blocking the plate rule is so contrary to the real rules that even the umpires and replay officials are confused by it.
  22. It’s not a block if the ball is in your glove
