  1. No but he never turned into the ace they always hoped he would, and he probably never will in Colorado. They could probably get back for him a better haul than he's actually worth. Suckers will probably still bite due to his strong velocity and pedigree, and I'm just the sucker for them.
  2. Ha, yeah pretty standard MO for Rockies hitters. After not moving Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez at peak value due to inflated home stats, maybe they've finally learned their lesson and decided to cash in while there's cash to be got. They did do pretty will moving a similar home/road splitter in Corey Dickerson a few years back though. I'd guess other teams might be wise to the ruse by now though. Or at least they can see his age and remaining contract and talk themselves out of liking him.
  3. If Stroman doesn't start missing more bats, I'd rather look elsewhere. I don't trust pitchers who intentionally pitch to contact here in 2019. If the Rockies are listening to Charile Blackmon, that probably means they'd listen on Jon Gray. He's a name I haven't heard much of but I like to rescue from Colorado.
  4. Are you supposed to zap the rotator cuff and the spleen to revive someone?
  5. I missed a triple play?!??!! Noooooooooooo, that’s my favorite!
  6. I like to see Stashak up and Thorpe back. My biggest concern is regarding who they are pitching against. I'd bet Baldelli's first instinct is to go with the vets, which means Parker, Duffey, May and 30-year-old rookie Harper. Maybe that will be the right call, but I could also see the trio of Stewart, Thorpe and Stashak being healthy and rested, yet not being put to use because, gasp, it's the Yankees, while the vets struggle again.
  7. I agree with most of this, but maybe not the part about the pen being thin. Harper, May, Duffey and Parker have been generally underwhelming, but their overall body of work has been mostly satisfactory; just about every team in the league would find room for these guys in their pen if available, even if we are cursing one or more of them out daily. But I completely agree that they all appear to be best served in 5th, 6th, 7th inning kind of duties. They all seem to have their meltdown moments simultaneously these days. Which maybe is fair since they all seemed to pitch above their heads simultaneously for the first two months.
  8. His recent results aren't cutting it, but I don't care about a fist pump. I'm quite confident he's going to turn it around at some point. But it might not be here.
  9. Obviously we'd like to say that we should try to get our bad relievers to Cleveland. But that wouldn't be how the FO would view it; they'd just hate to have egg on their faces should Cleveland actually end up with one of those guys and they actually end up helping.
  10. Maybe they were just trying to keep Cleveland from claiming them? It looks like right before the Twins DFA'd Mejia, Cleveland had traded international bonus money for Phil Maton, then optioned him, filling their 40-man. Then right before the Twins DFA'd Morin and Magill Cleveland had recalled Zach Plesac who they had previously only sent down for the 10 day max just before the AS break so as they could have another bench bat.
  11. Great news, he's one of my favorite minor leaguers. He's averaging nearly 2 IP per appearance since his promotion to Rochester, they need to find someone who can go multiple innings in non-garbage time situations to take some of the pressure off of Rogers. Though unfortunately for Stashak, he's probably first, maybe second to be sent down if/when the Twins get more relief help.
  12. That’s fine but there’s no need to bring gasoline to feed the flames.
  13. Adrianza countdown to an .800 OPS:: .790. Shoulda ruled that a double.
  14. I’ll remember that next time I see you tied to the train tracks.
  15. Dude, not cool. That was defiantly a Snidely move.
  16. Seems like it would be easier to replace the last reliever in the pen with someone who can get strikeouts than to replace the entire infield with + defenders.
  17. This Kepler guy might get a few MVP votes.
  18. Adrianza OPS approaching .800. Is something I never thought anyone would say.
  19. Well yeah, can’t go with the top hat AND the mustache.
  20. Moderator Note: Hosken is correct, if you want to tally up season long complaints, that’s what the other threads are for. The game threads are for general discussion about the game at hand, or whatever irreverent topics come up. They are not for listing season long gripes. Sure, if Duffey gives up a two run bomb, there’s plenty to carp about, no one is saying criticism isn’t fair game. But the intended atmosphere is supposed to be akin to watching a game with buddies in the bleachers or in a bar. No one enjoys the guy who’s complaining before the game even starts.
  21. I’ve got a fridge full of beer if you want to bring some nachos.
