    It seems to me, if he can't play CF, he's just getting in the way of development. His OPS last year was exactly the same as Arcia's career OPS. Why on earth would this team even consider giving up on a 25-year-old who plays the same position and at least has a sniff of potential for a guy who is classic DFA material?

    What did I miss? Did Arcia actually do something to cause them to make this move? He hasn't even been given a chance. Another corner bat when there already aren't enough spots for Kepler, Park and Arcia. Why not just call Quentin back? Isn't it a right-handed bench bat this team really needs?

    Probably, though Pressly also worked multiple innings as well. There seems to be an air of changing of the guard in this thread no matter how folks feel about how this has transpired. I hope Molitor feels that air too and gives the job to May.

    So we're criticizing players for not having surgery immediately even when there are alternatives to try? It's easy to yell about surgery when it's not you or someone you love getting knocked out, cut open and incapacitated for months. These are living breathing human beings even if we too often think of them as disposable entertainment.

    Molitor seems to trust everyone in the pen, aside from Tonkin. I'm not saying he should....

    If a move to the pen increases his velocity and/or eliminates the need of his weakest pitch, success against RHB likely will also improve.

    I trust Jepsen much less than Pressly and May. I know for some reason he was the 25th man on the roster and he was at one point a Rule 5 pick, but when healthy, Pressly has been the most consistent and reliable bullpen arm since the start of last year. I don't know why he isn't getting more trust. I'd put him in the 8th/9th until the real fireballers get called up.

    It didn't say what to do with Canadian outlets. You guys still use those weird British ones right?

    I knew it. For those that don't want to take the time to read it, if you charge your phone too much the outlet will auto reverse the power intake and suck the power back out of your phone. To preserve battery life you should charge your battery to exactly 83% than quickly put it in a ziplock bag then wrap that in a piece if suede and stick it in the freezer until sunrise.

    There is some potential with the rotation, but the big club really, really needs one of Gonsalves, Jay or Stewart to figure it out and become a top of the rotation guy. I'd think currently all of them are looked at as having ceilings of a mid-rotation guy; someone has to over-achieve, the MLB rotation just cannot continue to operate with number 4-5 guys, maybe a 3, throughout.

    I said in the Escobar thread that Zi thought he'd hit 40 doubles this year. I think I was way off, he's on pace for 324.

    They wanted to lock as many fans in the stadium as possible. If you've ever walked a Baltimore street, it's really for their own safety though, it's a total public service.

    I get that, and I'm sure it's the thought the front office is operating with. But it seems to me, with these guys on roster, there's a lid on the well. I understand that the counter option is to work with a very untested safety net, but I think having a roster where nearly every pitcher can only be DFA'd or rostered is asking for a long season of not seeing the young guys. Barring injury, there are not many guys the front office will replace, that's my inflexible angle. As to the last sentence, I think having a roster full of league average pitchers is probably the worst possible outcome. League average isn't good enough to win, but it's not bad enough for management to bring up the young guys. Having a staff full of 2015 Mike Pelfreys and Blaine Boyers is going to make for a bad year in terms of competing and developing.

    Yes. And what if the few cut-able guys aren't the problem? What if Tonkin and Abad are solid but Jepsen and Hughes are struggling? There is very little maneuverability with this pitching staff. Does anyone other than Pressly and May even have options left? I'm not saying they made the wrong decisions on the young players to start the season by sending them down, but I don't want to see them down longer than needed just because the decisions at the MLB level are too difficult. I understand why they didn't, but I wish the team would have just ripped the band-aid off of a couple of these painful decisions this spring and gotten it over with. I believe Pressly and May have one option each, if that's accurate and no one else has one remaining that would mean there are a total of two options remaining for 13 pitchers on a rebuilding team. I think this was a bit of a mis-step.
