  1. I doubt he cares as long as people are watching. He's more concerned with the next concert at his stadium.
  2. How desperate is McCarthy to save his job that he won't try.
  3. You had me at 'worse than Manny Margot'.
  4. ****Moderator Note**** Stay on topic please.
  5. I'm signing Christian Walker to a 3/$60 million deal to play first base. This is pricy, but he’s been worth an average of 3.6 fWAR over the past three seasons and can hold the position down during the current core’s window. Signing him will also send a message to fans that the Twins are still investing and want to win. Even if there is a few dollars to throw at free agents, I don't see this team giving out a multi year deal unless it's something marginal. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but I don't see a deal like the one suggested for Walker even being considered this year. I think they want to declutter to make the financials look more flexible for potential buyers. If they do spend 20M, it's more likely to be one year deals. I don't think the Twins are as interested in sending a message to the fans as they are to a new ownership group.
  6. I'd keep Nowlin over McLeod. I know the results say otherwise, but I'd never trust someone throwing under 90 MPH on the major league mound. Also, based on the Twins letting Severino walk, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rosario unprotected. I really only need to see Raya protected, but that would leave four open roster spots, and frankly, I have no interest in filling them with dime store free agents, so go ahead, give them to the kids for all I care. I'd rather see Rosario or Holland than the 2025 version of Manny Margot.
  7. 18 seconds is too few, but he still should have taken a knee at the 15.
  8. Conky certainly didn't run good routes, but he had better hands.
  9. But they won't. These NFL teams need to hire one person who ONLY does clock management.
  10. I guess I don't understand why the Twins would trade Jeffers for other catchers. Or, if they aren't trading him for catchers, what else they'd plan to do with the position. Moving Jeffers should be amongst the lowest priorities for this team. Cheap and not an offensive black hole. Unless you can improve on the offensive aspect, just accept what you've got.
  11. Very impressive. He must have the neck of a nose tackle.
  12. My mom was Burrow's elementary school gym teacher, I credit her for these plays.
  13. I'm not a cap guru, but it looks like the cap damage is much less after this season, and very manageable the following season.
  14. 11 minutes left, you're going to jinx yourself. But I really dislike Jim Harbaugh so I'm crossing my fingers.
  15. Right, owning San Diego to renting from the Rams. I could see them moving back at some point. Especially with the NFL becoming more and more of an 'experience' league. San Diego is a fun tourist city.
  16. Fun game, nice comeback by Burrow and the Bengals. Plenty of time for more drama too.
  17. The Vikings need to find a mid round multi-use RB like Chase Brown. But I don't think they have enough picks to use one on a RB.
  18. Maybe. I'm waiting to vote on that. Zero skill position talent for sure. But this defense got good really, really fast.
  19. OK, Herbert fumble, trade back on. What a waste of two paragraphs.
  20. With the narrative being that Jim Harbaugh doesn't need a special QB, he just needs a game manager, I was secretly hopeful that he'd want to get out from under Herbert's contract and that the Vikings might be able to pull off some sort of McCarthy/Herbert deal this winter. Harbaugh would be absolutely brain dead to do it though. Herbert looks like this decade's Matt Stafford. Tons of talent and production but a QB on a loser team. He probably won't be traded, they instead will/have put a non-loser team around him.
  21. Not sure how the rest of the league sees him either, but I prefer the guys with strikeout potential.
  22. While SWR may have a higher floor, I think Festa and Matthews both have a higher ceiling. Being so, I'd look to move SWR who probably has more trade value.
  23. Westburg yes, no to the other two. Pereira's bat interests me, but I'm on board with the new lower strikeout directive. Rafaela looks like one of those defensive plus players everyone likes until the bat frustrates everyone until he's run out of town.
  24. I liked the first few books. After those it got pretty soapy and formulaic and probably haven't read one in 20 years. I'll admit, the previews looked good though. Though, if I'm honest, I saw this thread had a hit for the first time in a month and came to see if someone was posting that Mike Tyson died live on Netflix.
  25. If Jax can't keep his velocity up as a starter, I don't understand how they think he'll keep the results. Lugo and Littell never threw that hard to begin with. They didn't have a 5 MPH velocity discrepancy to deal with.
