  1. What made you think I had no knowledge of what Craig posted just after you? The notion existed, but the state wasn't formed until 1947. Why are we going backwards? What is the discussion about?
  2. I did not get this from the Trump statement. I totally knew that assumption was going to be made. I don't have the time right now, since I work I brought home this weekend and family stuff later, but I will gladly explain that your assumption about my source is off the charts wrong.
  3. And of course, anyone can do their own search and register a whole lot more than this one source
  4. That really isn't the discussion and it is hindsight. Nothing we can do about it now, but honestly, after suffering through the Holocaust the free world decided something must be done and Israel has been a sovereign state since. That is a whole lot more than anyone can say about the other countries in the Middle East. Since some want to look back on the "mistake" made in 1947 with regret, I must ask......what should have been done? Honestly. Would it be a better policy to just have given them asylum here? Like we have done with Somalians and other Muslim nations? Is that answer? Or should we be more like Sweden? I know some are pretty fond of that government. I would suggest anyone who thinks Sweden is so awesome go ask someone who has been there recently so they can tell you what an effect Muslim immigration has had in their cities (and the insane amount of rape and violent crime perpetrated by that segment of their population is responsible for) I am not seeing Israeli folks posing safety threats to Americans. Israel doesn't play, though. You mess with them and they will fight back. And that really is the end of the discussion as to why we support Israel. My initial statement: "I like the fact that Israel doesn't target Americans" is the one that I am centering the discussion around. Let me add, I also like the fact that Israel citizens have not mass-emigrated to the US fleeing tyranny, strife and war only to land on US soil unwilling to assimilate, all the while collecting benefits for doing nothing. Lest we now forget, Islam is a religion centered on the worship of a warrior prophet. It's most fanatical elements are an overt threat to western society. Israel is not. They target civilians around the globe and gladly take credit for it. Israel does not.
  5. What incidents are you referring to? Pull up some examples and let's discuss this please.
  6. I would say they rely on us more than they do all the other NATO countries combined
  7. Not sure what you are trying to say now, but your original assertion that Israel might indeed target American citizens is a new one along the lines of an Alex Jones conspiracy theory rant. TO even hint that MAYBE this is happening really is astounding. Do you also think 9-11 was an inside job and that Sandy Hook was orchestrated by the government? Israel NEEDS us. Name me one Israeli terror cell that ever had it's sights on Americans/the "American way of life". Don't bother. You can't If anyone is asking me to pick one country out of the Middle East to have an alliance with that would Israel 1,000 times out of a 1,000
  8. One more thing before I put a personal moratorium on any more Buxton talk until April... I am concerned about how wound up he seems to be. It feels like he's playing his World Series right now. That's all well and good, but he's got to learn to pace himself and show that's he's built for a full season physically and mentally. He's so much more intense it is like he swapped brains with another guy. It's been quite a conversation this winter with young Mr. Buxton. Sold as a humble soft-spoken kind and now we have this. Well OK. Now what? Not sure how all that he's said is a good thing and yet there seems to be no shortage of folks encouraged by the new edgier demeanor. OK now what? Tell me what he's going to because I don't have any idea I'm just concerned about where he is in April. To say he's never hit in April & May is an understatement. Anyone who doesn't believe me can look it up. I can honestly say I would be much more encouraged if he took the high road in his media exchanges this winter. Simple as that. I give him props that he's done a lot to get stronger and apparently he's hit more than ever this last winter. Those are positives. However, until these perceived positives translate into something I'm going to be bearish on the guy. I'm going to wait and watch. I know this. With all the noise he's made he surely better not hit .152 through April (pretty much the norm he's established) Not so controversial to say he needs to erase that real soon. Like this April
  9. I have my concerns and they are well founded given his uneven track record offensively and his penchant for running into walls. To say I'm "being negative" really makes no sense. I'm being realistic about the situation Not trying to offend anyone, but I get the distinct feeling that somehow I have. I don't understand it....but I respect it. Sorry about that I also think Dr Neau deserves credit for starting this thread knowing full well it would be received poorly. We can't always agree folks and there isn't anything wrong with that.
  10. Why would I ask "What if he doesn't hit in April?" In April?? Seems to me the time to ask would be in March. Thanks, though
  11. Oh please. Plays like a dog is somehow hurtful nowadays? A term like that tilts the board on its side?
  12. I figured this wouldn't need to be explained, but I was wrong There seems to be no distinciton made with regard to intent or modus operandi
  13. Could sub and you stop talking about "hidden meaning"? He was speaking in very clear terms. There is an any hidden meaning to uncover with some of these comments. Just hit in April. If he's a dog in April again, then what?
  14. The excuses are flying. He said dumb stuff, and quite frankly, even dumber stuff in his last Star Tribune interview. What the heck is with him and running into walls? He's saying the gained weight is for padding. Even if it's tongue-in-cheek it's moronic. He has hurt himself in the outfield more than a few times. With his speed and athletic skills you would think he'd run into walls LESS. You would think he'd make it look effortless. He just loves crashing into walls and that to me is terminal dumbness. Such talk and ideas should not be encouraged. Again, I don't care too much about what he says but I'm not really liking what he has said this winter. I'm glad someone is calling him out rather than making excuses for him. He needs tough love, not more coddling
  15. Buxton has alluded to his displeasure with the Twins several times this winter. It's spring next week. When is he going to get over it?? I'm tired of hearing about potential, speed, athleticism, how mad he is in every other quote this winter. Enough. Shut up and hit in April just once..
  16. At no point was Westbrook threatened. For him to threaten the man AND HIS WIFE is out of control. Westbrook doesn't take a word back. He claims to have "defended his family" Make me understand how that is a rational though
  17. Did you read what I just said?? I said BY WESTBROOK'S ACCOUNT Westbrook he was way WAY over the line. Why you'd ask me this question after my last post is puzzling. I could not be any clearer
  18. YES I know the fan was banned You hear Westbrook's rant and explanation for why he was ready to F-up the man's wife? Again. Going by Westbrook's own account (which is different from the fan's) he is way WAY over the line
  19. And now we have the Russell Westbrook situation. If what he said about the fan is true he's an idiot. To go on a rant like that over what he claimed the guy said he needs to be pressed. To characterize get on your knees as a racial thing is insanity. These cries of "racism" are pathetic. It only serves to water down REAL claims of racism. I think Westbrook went racism because he knew he screwed up so he dealt that card from the bottom of the deck. Pathetic
  20. Wasn't thinking about Palestine. Was thinking of Somalia, though
  21. The thing I like about Israel is they don't attack Ameican citizens.
  22. Develop that thought.
  23. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6775061/BBC-faces-probe-biased-reports-pointless-stories-claims-not-impartial.html https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1092413/brexit-news-BBC-Brexit-bias-UK-public-brexit-date-theresa-may-referendum-tv https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/bbc/ These one word responses are lazy
  24. I have to take a little hiatus from this thread. I have personal things to attend to, but I will be back here next week for sure. I applaud chmpuckett for TRYING hard to explain his commitment to civility and finding some common ground.
  25. Once again, that is your choice. He is clarifying again and again and you feign ignorance. His initial post was not only commendable, but also crystal clear AND respectful. Seems like you are having trouble with ti.
