  1. Have to believe there will be trades before this time next year or TD may implode from the list of Rule 5 eligible next winter 2020 RULE 5 ELIGIBLE (according to Roster Resource and some Graterol/Alcala math by TD peeps) mychal GIVENS: 1 Wander Javier 2 Brusdar Graterol 3 Griffin Jax 4 Jorge Alcala 5 Jhoan Duran 6 Tyler Wells OTHERS: Luke Raley Trey Cabbage Travis Blankenhorn Yeltsin Encarnacion Gilberto Celestino Sean Poppen Luis Rijo Devin Smeltzer Jovani Moran Ryan Mason Gonna need to move quite a few bodies in the next 12 months
  2. Nothing official...but the 40-man Toolkit (which pulls from the MLB.com team rosters) shows the following already added to 40-man INF Nick Gordon OF LaMonte Wade Total now at 38 Seems to me those moves have been made
  3. Any chance this game follows the same as the Pitts vs Jax game from earlier today? One team totally outplayed...pathetic looking offense...down 2 scores late in the game only to comeback and win
  4. Excellent recall all the way from the Hoosier State!
  5. BYBB is just way to graphically advanced...true analytical simulations must be done by scanning screen after screen of green lists or if available print outs on that extra wide green and white tractor-fed paper Which reminds me of playing Oregon Trail at the Hennepin County Library in St. Louis Park and taking home the print out of the game session...yes there was no screen...you watched the printer for updates and to hunt you had to type words like BANG or SHOOT fast enough to bag a deer Ahhhh the good old days Given away at the Library as well...by each player
  6. Santana (and Belt) lost the 1B trade competition to Goldschmidt...this would work as well in this mindset
  7. Gibson was moved in another non-money laundering deal for 2 lottery ticket pitchers from Bowdoin College and Swarthmore College Cave lost a Rock-Paper-Scissors best of 7 match to M. Reed for the final roster spot All deals were with teams looking to drop salary....Astros and Reds don't fit that mode Giants deal would work as well
  8. Haven't played OOTP for several years All simulation research for this post passed through Earl Weaver Baseball on my Amiga500
  9. Pretty sure Bill Pohlad would be the Producer
  10. Paddington...hmmm...I'm picturing Astudillo
  11. Seeings how it's not my money and I'd just as soon see a major shakeup of any of our Pro Sports teams, rather than be stuck in the middle of the pack as most (here's looking at you Lynx) of our teams seem to always be. I post for pure entertainment a Twins BluePrint only a Money Launderer could appreciate Any of these deals would be the biggest pro move since Herschel Walker ran into town with one shoe. Ultimately, at the end, you'll see what things would look like if ALL of the moves were executed (which might happen to any GM that did all this) All moves look to bring in talent for the next couple years while keeping Lewis and Kirilloff...the trades assume that each trade partner wants to decrease payroll as well as get a decent return for some of the included players Trade #1: Lets be Real - 2019 Money Laundered $37M Total Money Laundered: $61M Front Office Comments: In this deal the Twins launder the entire amount Miami needs cleaned at no cost. Levine's explains "this was a great opportunity to serve notice to the entire league how we will use all of our resources in non-traditional ways". Falvey adds "Just because me and Thad went to Little Ivy schools, don't sleep on what we can do economically" Trade Details: The Marlins asked for Lewis and Kirilloff in any deal for JTR, but by taking on their Castro and Chen the prospect ask, while still painful, was reduced enough to make this doable Twins Trade: Fernando Romero Lewis Thorpe Wander Javier Marlins Trade: J.T. Realmuto $6.1M - ARB Starling Castro $11.857M - $1M Wei-Yin Chen $20M - $22M Trade #2: A Couple G's Exchanged - 2019 Money Laundered $34.5M Total Money Laundered: $84.5M Front Office Comments: After the Marlin trade was announced the calls started coming in...AZ really is looking to shed some $$$ Levine quoted "Doing that first deal for free (cash wise) we had to charge for this one." Falvey added "Thad and me were binge watching Ozark on Netflix, while waiting for transcripts...I mean professional portfolios to come in for potential coaches, and that Teen Wolf guy had some outside the box ideas on handling large amounts of unused money...we started to think we could do the same thing." Trade Details: Kepler helps fill AZ OF issues (losing Pollock this year and Peralta next) Twins will work to extend Goldschmidt ASAP Grienke provides a slow fade from #2 starter as Berrios moves in the other direction towards #1 $10M per year to pay down Grienke provides positive cash flow (when applying MicroEconomic view) Twins Trade: Kepler $3.2M Gordon Gonsalves Rooker Diamondbacks Trade: Paul Goldschmidt $14.5M Zach Grienke $34.5M - $35M - $35M $10M for 3 years <$10M> - <$10M> -<$10M> Trade #3: The King and Edwin - 2019 Money Laundered $30M Total Money Laundered: $53M Front Office Comments: Levine at yet another pressser "What started out as a conversation about Paxton turned with the announcement of our first two trades...suddenly we were talking King's and Closers." Falvey "We may have taken on a little too much longer term dollars than we like to launder...but Thad stopped by the house while I was looking at my baseball card collection and we both really liked King Felix's rookie card." Trade Details: Twins offered Graterol for Diaz M's countered with Felix added Twins countered with Odorizzi to offset $$$ M's really wanted to shed cash...added Seager Twins finally settled with addition of Colome in addition to the now standard Laundering charge of $30M over 3 years Twins Trade: Jake Odorizzi $9.4M Brusdar Graterol Tyler Austin Mitch Garver Mariners Trade: Felix Hernandez $27.9M Edwin Diaz $.6M 4 years Team Control Kyle Seager $19.5M - $19.5M - $18.5M Alex Colome $7.3M $15M over 3 years <$15M> - <$10M> - <$5M> Trade #4: Cubs Just Kept on Harpering - 2019 Money Laundered $25M Total Money Laundered: $107M Front Office Comments: Levine, appearing a little nervous at this presser, opens with "This has been quite the off-season, hasn't it?" The following silence from a typically chatty press group only seemed to make Levine fidget more. Falvey too seemed uneasy announcing this trade "I have the utmost respect for Theo...were it not for him and the success he's had I'm not sure I'd be here today. When Theo actually returned my numerous calls and texts this year I knew something good was about to happen. We were able to right a miss we had last off season and like Morno-sie always tells me...the Twins need to be more like the Canadian Mounties and Always get their man! Today we're happy to report, we've finally acquired Yu Darvish" Trade Details: This trade is more about what the Cubs wanted and hoped for from the start of the Off-season, clearing enough to sign Bryce Harper The Twins Laundering Plan may have got the best of them here...and one could argue this trade makes little sense at all All attempts at including Addison Reed in this deal were rebuffed by Theo Bringing back Kintzler was an homage to Molitor and becomes this years Matty B Heyward and Russell were attached to Darvish For this the Twins Merry Money Launderers raised their fee to $75M Twins Trade: Jason Castro $8M LaMonte Wade Luke Raley Cubs Trade: Jason Heyward $20M - $21M - $21M - $22M - $22M Yu Darvish $20M - $22M - $22M - $19M - $18M Addison Russell $4.3M Brandon Kintzler $5M $15M for 5 years <$15M> - <$15M> - <$15M> - <$15M> - <$15M> This final trade needed to be completed in order for the Little Ivies to get the OK from ownership...how did they do that? Here's the presenter notes from that meeting: Begin with Joe Mauer video montage Slide 2: Mauer's expiring contract terms $184M/8years Slide 3: Note that 2019 salaries total $184M for 25 players (quite the bargain comparatively) Slide 4: Remind Jimmer that Mauer made $23M/year...Heyward only makes $21M Slide 5: We really tried hard to get Darvish and he got his injury out of the way now Slide 6: Focus on the $135M cash influx these trades generated Slide 7: If things are going good, break out the "This is our chance to free Twins Fans from being...12 years a Slave" Below is how this would shake out if all 4 trades were made:
  12. I thought this was going to have information on Mychal???
  13. Drilling deeper, I bored through my son's The Athletic Subscription to find this nugget (Initials only subscription required for full listing) Who could we see in the race for 2019’s Rookie of the Year? American League 1 VGJr Blue Jays 3B 2 EJ White Sox LF 3 KT Astros LF 4 JJ Astros Pitcher 5 DJ Blue Jay Catcher Also: JS, LHP, Yankees; Willians Astudillo, C/UT, Twins Viva El Tortuga!
  14. Be Board no more Red Sox Make First Major Move of the Off-Season most sought after Catcher off the bored
  15. I wonder if Theo isn't looking at a bundle to rid the Cubbies of the PR nightmare that is Addison Russel Theo: "Hello...yes, we're listening on Bryant...how bout we take care of your whole left side of the diamond for you?" <long period of silence> Theo: "Hello...is anyone there?"
  16. Anyone have an email address I'd be glad to send it to him
  17. I scoured the MLB/MILB website for a relief pitcher Rodgers and then realized...only a TD poster from Sconnie would spell it that way Here's the chart

  20. I totally planned to put together a BluePrint that could almost make it believable that Harper to the Twins could happen His ability to handle 1B occasionally would make him the perfect "Versatility" play with Austin Everyone's favorite trade candidate could be moved for anything knowing Bryce was here to man RF most days Well...Scottie B chose the wrong time to poke fun at MLB and use my favorite team as the butt of his joke His single Twin comment changed everything for me...to which...I focused my attention on the following Total BS BluePrint A Team only Bora$$ could love FREE AGENTS With money to spare and a second Twin to locate I suggest the Pohlad's defend the honor of Minnesota and sign the following: Martin Maldonado C 2 years $4M AAV - Pitch framer extraordinaire makes Castro trade bait (not good trade bait mind you but he's now expendable) and the offensive trade off is equally offensive only from the other side of the plate Matt Wieters C 1 year $5M - much has been said about versatility in recent posts and whats more versatile than an aging LH Catcher with a long injury history...Wieters quoted after signing "I was inspired to join the Twin after watching the Joe Mauer send off last season...all I'm really looking for out of this is a chance to catch one more ball before I go" Marwin Gonzalez UT 4 years $9M AAV - everyone's favorite more expensive Eddie the Stick replacement joins the Twin providing more versatility to an already di-versatile line up...Scottie B knew MarTwin was a marketing bonanza too good to pass up Mike Moustakos 3B 2 years $8M AAV - more Scottie B marketing wizardry, he purchases a warehouse full of Minnesota Moose jerseys and has Mike sign them all for fun...oh and profit Carlos Gomez CF 1 year $2M - GoGo returns another player inspired by the Mauer send off and the chance to beat Gardy's Tiggers 19 times a year...Over/Under on falling down while swinging out of his arse set at 324 (that's twice a game for those mathematically challenged) Bryce Harper RF However many years it takes $30M AAV (just to prove Scottie wrong I'd go to $40M AAV if needed) - RiverBrian loves Harper's willingness to learn 1B providing more opportunity for BS (Baldelli/Shelton) to create a different lineup for every game of the year...out-thinking the outside the box Opener/Stackers by only announcing 5 of the days starters and batting Harper 6th most games to match up with the the "First Sipper" (creative thinking name BS came up with for what usually happens after the Opener is used) Matt Holiday DH 1 year $3M - this signing again showing Falvine's creativity in doing everything they can to return the second Twin to us Minnesotans...Levine quoted at Holiday's signing "Derek and I were taking a break at the MOA watching a movie together and it just came to both of us...It's a Jolly Holiday with Matty" Adrian Beltre 3B 1 year $12M - "We didn't want GoGo to feel out of place falling down while swinging so we saw an opportunity to bring in some veteran leadership in this area" quipped Falvey at the 8th straight free agent signing presser Gio Gonzalez P 2 years $12M AAV - first reaction to this was not good...but Levine quickly admitted "we had it from a good source that this was the missing Twin...turns out MarTwin has a twin sister" Matt Harvey P 2 years $11M AAV - turns out Bill Pohlad was next in line to direct "The Dark Knight Rises"...brother Jim thought it would be poetic justice to add Harvey for an equally successful sequel...Scottie B see's nothing but $$$ with this pairing Jeremy Hellickson P 1 year $8M - the first Tampa Tie-in for Rocco "Jeremy knows what we're looking for...now if he can only pitch like he did back then" Yusei Kikuchi P 5 years $7M AAV - internal strife over past success, or lack thereof, in the Asian market makes this the riskiest venture to date for the Wonder Twin (all plural Twin references were removed as part of the Harper Deal), Scottie B quips at signing presser "Yousei goodbye...I say Hello, to another fantastic Twin signing" Zach Britton P 3 years $11M AAV - Greg Holland P 2 years $7.5M AAV - Scottie B made this a Twin deal, insisting "...in order to get Britton you have to sign Holland, They're not Twin brothers but they make a great pair of relievers...or at least they did at one time, they can do it again" TRADES Josh Bell 1B from PIT for Tyler Austin and Alan Busenitz - trading one guy who swings and misses a lot along with a guy who can't get a swing and miss is addition by subtraction...Scottie B guarantees Josh really is a descendent of Cool Papa...not to be confused with Papa John Addison Russel SS from CUBS for Byron Buxton - this is totally a change of scenery move for two guys with polar opposite issues...one plays infield and the other the outfield...shame on you for those of you who thought it was about their ability to get on base Billy McKinney LF from TOR for Jimmy Butler - Falvey was honing his front office skills by reading "Was There Ever Even One Shining Moment? - The History of the Timberwolves" and he thought he was trading for the former T-Wolves Director or Player Personnel. He also wanted to help Thibs out of his current situation by moving Butler...it was also a thank you to Thibs for making Falvey look like a rockstar Jurickson Profar UT from TEX for Jorge Polanco - Levine quoted at yet another presser "JP is going to be hard to replace but we believe that JP has been what we've been looking for in a middle infielder, I know JP pretty well from our time together and we will be getting the best of JP" James Paxton P from SEA for Max Kepler and Steven Gonsalves - Scottie B says "James hasn't been the same since the eagle incident, he heard Minnesota was known as a hunting state and James wants his revenge" Tony Watson P from SF for Eddie Rosario - "we were certain we'd found the other Twin of minor leaguer Tyler and Rosario is out of options so we took a chance" a perplexed Levine to reporters gathered at another presser...this one was more like a de-presser Brad Boxberger P from ARZ for Ehire Adrianza - another Tampa Tie-in with Rocco "Box-of-burgers knows what we're looking for from a reliever...now if he can only pitch like he did back then". Eduador Escobar quoted "I thought I got far enough away from that guy" Josh Fields P from LAD for Addison Reed and Trevor Hildenberger - Falvey at this presser had to admit "This one was for spite...Scottie B poked fun at us an removed our "s" so we made this move to get that "s" back" in a related announcement all home games will now be played at Target Fields Zach Davies P from MIL for Kyle Gibson and Adalberto Mejia - at what hopefully/mercilessly is the final presser of the off season Levine reveals "we were really close to landing an established #1 starter from the NL West but that fell through, so, we quickly shifted to another Zach and because we already had the paperwork halfway completed we were able to beat the market to land another extra "s" which will come in handy later this year" Here's how the 25-man roster shakes out C - Maldonado 1B - Bell 2B - MarTwin 3B - Moustakas SS - Russel LF - McKinney CF - GoGo RF - Harper DH - Holiday BENCH - Wieters BENCH - Beltre BENCH - Profar BENCH - Kirilloff - It's amazing how fast Scottie B was able to get him to the Show after he signed with him SP - Gonzalez, Gio SP - Harvey, Matt SP - Hellickson SP - Paxton SP - Kikuchi, Yusei CLOSER - Britton RP - Holland RP - Rosenthal RP - Watson RP - Boxberger RP - Fields RP - Davies Possible LineUp LH Starter (In no particular order) Bell 6th player MarTwin 8th player McKinney 9th player GoGo Maldonado 7th player Possible LineUp RH Starter (In no particular order) Bell 9th player MarTwin 8th player McKinney 7th player GoGo Wieters 6th player TOTAL 2019 PAYROLL: $176.5M In case you haven't figured it out yet...all players represented by Scottie B How's that for competing?
  21. OK...after trying to keep up making a sheet for every BluePrint added I'll try sharing the sheet You Be the GM Team BluePrint Toolkit Brief/Incomplete instructions for use: Make a Copy of the Google Sheet if you like or Duplicate the "DUPLICATE THIS SHEET" before making your changes...PLEASE Click on Player Name or Open Cell left of a Position Start typing in a name Click on the player you want for that roster spot Contract info will fill in across the sheet IF you don't agree with the Contract Info you can enter your own numbers for each year Be sure to enter Salary info in full number in order for it to add correctly $15M entered as 15000000 NOTE: This will remove the formulas and won't grab the info if you change players names later on...you'll have to manually add the salary I've attempted to include every player and their contract per Cots (should update live when they make changes) I have updated the Twins players a little more than the rest of the league with contract info for younger players ARB Eligible Salaries from MLBTR Free Agent listings from MLBTR, TD, and Heyman (only because he put it out there first) When multiple sites had predictions preference is: MLBTR, TD, Heyman I've added every Minor Leaguer in the Twins System for those that want to add Nick Gordon at the estimated MLB Minimum Salary Use as is no guarantees it will do what you want...but it works for me Any questions or issues message me and I might try to fix it
