    As some have been saying, time to automate the strike zone! Bad calls can determine the outcome of a game, and that's not cool.

    I am all for the automation. Right now a bad called strike or vice versa a ball that should have been a strike, can actually change the outcome of the game or simply an important at bat when the batter/pitcher at fault did perform well and should have been rewarded not put at fault.

    I think I'd probably be open to trading Polanco for Hand. He just hasn't been that amazing defensively or offensively, and obviously he has more potential, but you have to give to get. Escobar would be a good SS started in my opinion.

    What were his numbers over his last 8 or so starts though? When he comes to the mound, I at least feel like we have a chance of a decent performance. With Colon, it's just by luck and by golly that we escape, just need our fielders to be in the right places at the right times.

    I am all for conservative buying of a starting pitcher, bullpen I think we have enough inhouse options at AA and AAA but we could use a solid starting pitcher, nothin fancy but able to eat some innings this team cannot sell, it would ruin the already slim fan base and also the young core of this team. I think they can sneak into the playoffs and who knows where it could go from there!

    I can't figure out how Jason Vargas is so successful, just from watching replay videos. The guy's fastball doesn't really have any movement and 85-87 and none of his off speed stuff has any nasty bite. I guess good command must go a long ways!
