  1. True, but she probably looks better in a tank top.
  2. The peaks and valleys of this teams performance are staggering. About as inconsistent as they come.
  3. Revenge is a dish best served on a hot, muggy day apparently.
  4. There's a reason they're called the Tools of Ignorance. None for me, thank you.
  5. Too often with this team, sadly.
  6. I'm guessing, at least for this outing, the grumpy and pissed off look is a result of being in Cleveland.
  7. Don't worry. HSan's ERA is a whole run lower.
  8. Is he hurt? The lineup seems so empty without him.
  9. Chip away, just chip away...
  10. Kurt did tag. Mauer got doubled off of 1st before the run scored.
  11. Mauer out at 1B?!!??!?!?!??!??!??!?!? Heck of a play defensively though.
  12. A month ago I'd have joked that he fits right in, but the starters have been pretty good lately.
  13. What does a guy who likes fava beans and Chianti have to do with elephants and rhinoceri?
  14. I know it's on MLB Network, but I don't remember if it gets blacked out in market if it's not otherwiseaired. You'd be able to see it in Texas.
  15. Does MLB Network black out in market games that aren't otherwise televised? They're airing it.
  16. My wife and I do that too. We buy a book now and bring it in with us. I've kept all of the old scorebooks. It's fun to go back and see some of the bigger feats that we've seen; cycles, monumental hits, etc.
  17. That's awesome! My dad was going through some of his old Sporting News bins that he's kept since he was a kid and found a program from Bob Gibson day in StL that is in great shape. Inside, there was an All-Star ballot from that year that is also in great condition and not punched at all. He gave them both to me. The interwebs tell me that Gibson had his number retired in September, so I don't know if my dad was at a couple of games that year or not. He lived in southeastern Iowa at the time, so it's possible.
  18. I tend to think that concentration is Sano's biggest flaw. I haven't seen anything that suggests that he can't play the position aside from mental lapses. Every replay that I've seen of him making an error, he's not looking the ball into his glove. He's trying to figure out where he's going with the ball before he has said ball. Regarding his hitting, I am starting to put more stock in the rumors about his work ethic. It's getting concerning, but I don't see a need to send him down. Molitor sitting him for a couple of games might be what is best for now.
  19. Great thread idea! I have a partial season ticket plan. I always get a little excited when the paper tickets come in the mail in the spring. I don't even keep most of them anymore though, so it's a bit weird that I still get excited. I suppose it's still 9 year old me giddy about a baseball game. I do tend to keep games for special events or home openers and whatnot, but generally they're discarded. I've used the digital tickets a few times. It's slick, but it's not the same. I do like how easy it is to transfer tickets if I need to. Each of us can get to the game when we can instead of trying to coordinate busy schedules. Generally, I do still like using the physical ticket. For the ASG, I was pretty anal about protecting those tickets. I kept them in a binder and carried it around in a messenger bag the whole weekend. I've got them framed at home now. Part of me really enjoyed the hassle I was putting myself through.
  20. I'd be awfully tempted to leave Park in Rochester for the rest of the year and start fresh next season. It's already a wasted year for him, no reason to make things more complicated just because he makes a lot of money. Plouffe will be back soon, as stated above. Here's to hoping that he either gets claimed on waivers or clears and Antony is able to deal him quickly. Having him hang around isn't good for the team or Plouffe. This is the just more punishment for not moving him sooner. I think Polanco needs to be playing in the field virtually every day. Rotate him through the infield to see what he can do in the field. I think we've got a decent feel for what he's going to do with the bat. If you rotate him through the infield, you can either DH the starter or rest him. Either is fine with me, but he needs reps with the glove.
  21. If you drink enough at one time, you don't even have to worry about waking up in the morning.
  22. They're coming...I think I've managed to have more in my 30's than I did in college. I drink less, drink more responsibly, and I hate getting drunk. The only reasoning for this that I can think of is my age. I've learned to pace myself to near a professional level. I get to the buzz point and then maintain really well. It's my water and food intake that often gets forgotten. Typically, I'm too busy talking to people that I forget to eat or drink water. Other times, heavier red wines will kick my butt if I'm not careful.
  23. I was just going to say that it was the path towards another trip through waivers.
