  1. I'm not sure that I understand the logic of moving him to DH. He got hurt running the bases, which is what a DH would be doing. He's been hurting while fielding, he's been hurt while running the bases. If the goal is for him not to get injured, he's got to shift to umpire or managing.
  2. I dislike the DH. While I'll admit that the strategy angle has been in decline due to a few reasons of late, I still prefer that style of game.
  3. With the late start and abbreviated spring training, nobody's starters are built all of the way up. See Kershaw, Clayton as an example of how other teams are handling their staff.
  4. Yeah, that's... awful...wow. That's quite a testament to how reliant today's game is on the HR ball and also how effective the pitching has been.
  5. For me, it's the starting pitching. A very pleasant surprise thus far. I hope they're able to keep it up over the long haul. The quiet bats are surprising to me as well, but it's not a concern yet. I think they'll come around eventually.
  6. The Twins have now completed 10 games. A very small sample in the grand scheme of things, but enough to establish some surprises. The bats have largely been quite, showing the occasional outburst. While the cobbled together starting rotation has been very solid. But which is the bigger surprise to you?
  7. Nice split at Fenway. That's always going to be a tough get, so it's nice to see that they were able to get the bats going in two of the games. The pitching continues to be solid, keeping the team in games. Has to be a matter of time before the bats start doing their part as well. On to KC!
  8. Ok, now I understand! But that begs the question; were you successful?!
  9. I'm not sure how these are related. One does not effect the other. That said, the sample size isn't sufficient enough to glean anything significant from. So, you're correct that patience is still required.
  10. Gotta like a split at Fenway!

  11. Ryan v Greinke is an interesting matchup of generations.
  12. I'm not sure how this team would come to a different conclusion than they did at the time. There's no way they keep Cron over Sano after the season Sano had in 2019. Cron certainly had a good year, but Sano's was better by a fair margin.
  13. This is a lot of math for a game thread!
  14. and then goes on to fan another...
  15. Should have told them you'd buy their stuff if it meant you could watch the game!
  16. sigh. Was that as bad as it sounded on the radio?
  17. all of this with the benefit of only 1 hit...
  18. Not likely to come back around to hit, so not really an issue. Arraez would hit again though, since Jeffers was the DH.
  19. If only the runners had been moved up...
  20. Sometimes it's better to be more lucky than good. And sometimes you just have to tip your cap to your opponent.
