  1. Hopefully Hammer Time happens frequently in KC. I'd love to see Hammer help get the Royals the AL Central crown over Detroit. Anyone but Detroit. Well, anyone except the 3itchSox.
  2. I hope to never have to be the player who was traded for Kevin Correia. Unless it's Drew Butera. #BoatAnchor #Forever
  3. Herrmann hold it down? If the Twins were left with Pinto and Herrmann I think the front office would be scrambling to find a replacement anyway they could. Pinto may yet have value behind the plate, but I don't think you want Herrmann on the roster unless it's as an emergency 3rd catcher... which is something you don't actually need.
  4. What does any of this mean? Should I be getting excited about Gilmartin or Guerra? Of all the guys who saw action on the mound on the 7th, who should I be most excited about? What about the offensive players? Anyone doing anything recently that I should take note of?
  5. This was one of my favortie Twins hangouts. I'm still shocked it didn't make it to the 60 minute mark, even with the Twins being relatively quiet.
  6. Runs? We don't need to stinkin' runs!

  7. What about a Twins fan directory of some sort? I'm finding a small amount of success finding Twins fans out here in Seattle via Twitter connections, but it'd be neat to be able to find Twins fans as I travel across the country for business/pleasure to watch baseball. Always neat to be able to have a beer and talk Twins with someone new when you're out on the road.
  8. I haven't been able to get this to work with my blog here on TD. Anyone else having better luck?
  9. I don't like Darnell as much as you do, and I think Harrison is a few spots too far down the list, but lots of good stuff here. Hopefully the guys in the top 10 can begin blossoming at the MLB level. I know many will washout and never reach their potential, but man, there's a lot fo talent there.
  10. I thought you were going to leave off my favorite dark horse Alex Wimmers. Glad to see he made your list. Like Gardy, I have a few players who are "my guys," Hicks, Wimmers, Goodrum and Kepler to name a few. Joe Benson was another, but he never seemed to put it all together. I still check up on his box scores... waiting for lightening to strike.
  11. More than anything I want TD to continue to be a place I go go to discuss Twins topics intelligently with other fans. A place to connect with baseball nuts who are as crazy about the Twins as I am. As a fan living outside of Twins Territory, TD, much like Twitter, allows me access to Twins news/talk that otherwise is lacking in my life. Talking Mariner's baseball is fine and dandy, but I need Twins talk, and this site gives me a healthy dose of that. I come for the forum, I stay for the indy blogs, and I usually read the stuff on the front page. So... I guess what I'm saying is... community. I'm not sure how the No Juice Podcast fits in with the Twins Daily theme, other than Parker is a co-host, but other than that I like most all of the components of the site.
  12. I think Pino has a shot to be a backup or 3rd catcher for the Twins, but most likely a DH/Bench bat will be his likely tag. yes, he can catch, but I think the Suzuki signing says a lot about Pino's future as an everyday backstop. When Joe Mauer had to move from behind the plate a big gap opened up. Hopefully the Twins can bide their time with Zook and Pino until the next great Twins catcher comes through the system... which could be awhile.
  13. http://assets.podomatic.net/ts/19/ad/da/paulpleiss/1400x1400_9826174.jpg After a week off, we're back and making podcast magic! This week we discuss the roster moves that happened surrounding the trade deadline, and talk about how the Twins are going to put a roster together when Joe Mauer returns. We muse ont he future of Ron Gardenhire and who is going to manage the Twins in the future. We talk about some of the young taelnt coming through the organization and how everything could fit together. Plus we do the regular - beer, baseball, and the news. 90 minutes to make your ears bleed. Source
  14. Lots of tough losses across Twins Territory. Hopefully tomorrow turns out better for everyone taking the field.
  15. My favorite park of reading the forums and even most Twins blogs out there is this crazy idea that some team would actually trade for Kevin Correia, league leader in loses. He's not absolute garbage, because he's stayed healthy and the Twins have refused to DFA him for any number of AAA guys. Yes, he's usually good for 6 innings and 3-4 runs, but that's not really something to get excited about. I wouldn't give up a bag of used BP baseballs for Kevin Correia, even if the Twins ate all of his salary. At least the baseballs have a use for a contending team.
  16. I don't understand your basketball references becasue I refuse to watch or learn about the NBA. It's bad enough that I have to watch lame ass dunks in the SportsCenter top 10 plays during the beginning of baseball season. Bah Humbug. Sam Fuld turned into Tommy Milone, that's pretty neat.
  17. I'm with JustcallupSano, the worst thing about Ron Gardenhire is Rick Anderson.
  18. AAAron Hicks is ready to do his thing in AAA, again. I think he can figure it out this time around and hopefully find himself back in the big leagues this September. Lots of talent. just needs to put it together. I would hate to see him become the next Joe Benson.
  19. Losing the the Padres is bad. Losing the the Padres at home is worse. Losing to the Padres, at home, when you've got the lead going into the 9th inning is the worst.
  20. Seth, you spend a lot of time going over hitter and pitcher of the month/year down in the minors. Does anyone at Twins Daily do the same for the guys with the big league ball club?
  21. Alex Meyer will never pitch in Minnesota becasue TR and the rest in the front office are worried about "consistency" and a bunch of other junk that doesn't matter. Meyer is 25, he knows how to pitch, Bring him up. What's the advantage to letting him continue to throw innings in AAA? We know he can do that. Can he do it at the MLB level? It's time to find out.
  22. Matt Crapps is the straw that broke my back concerning Bill Smith. He's done a great job overseeing the improvements down in Ft. Myers; let's hope he continues to do great non-baseball player related things.
  23. Even in Diamond never does another good thing with a baseball it's still time for the end of the Rick Anderson era in Minnesota. And I agree, if that means Gardy has to go, then good bye fellas. And I know TR thinks if Gardy goes, he should go to, so the Twins might as well clear it all out and bring in some new blood. Whatever it takes to get rid of Rick Anderson is a thing that I support. Even if it means bringing back Drew Butera. Not sure how that really plays into it, but I'd take sweet Drew over that Rick Anderson every day and twice on Sundays.
