    I was happy for Johan. I honestly didn't think he would be able to make much of a comeback, so good for him. I didn't see the play but I heard that Beltran hit a ball that landed on the chalk but was ruled foul. Regardless, it was a fine pitching performance by one of the greats in Twins history.

    I disagree with the concept that trading Willingham will send a bad message to the fan base. I think if the right kind of trade is made that it will send a positive message that the goal is to win a championship not just be mildly competitive to put fans in the seats.

    I wish Marquis the best. I think he could make a bit of a comeback with the Padres as he seems much better suited to the National League. It was better for us to part ways now instead of dragging things out. We need to focus on the future and he needs to focus on his family and getting back to being a serviceable MLB pitcher.

    It was a great win today and nice series sweep. I know the A's are not a good team, we've got to start some where. There were several positives to take from Liriano's outing: good velocity, nice break on his slider, better mechanics for the most part, and not imploding at the first sign of adversity. Let's hope this continues.

    I would hate to see him go. But at this point, the focus has to be the future. If we can get some quality pitching talent, I would pull the trigger.

    I was at the game. He was regularly hitting 93 on the stadium radar gun. His breaking balls seemed to have good bite and his delivery seemed more under control. As others have mentioned, I was impressed with how he didn't implode when he got behind hitters or gave up baserunners.

    I love an old school retro look with a modern flair. A lot of my Twins apparel has this color in it. I think it would be best utilized as a secondary uniform worn on a certain day of the week and see how it goes from there.

    I am generally quite pleased with Diamond so far. After giving up two early solo homeruns, he could have imploded but wound up pitching into the 7th inning and giving up only 3 runs. Those are the kinds of outings we need. Keep it up.

    He must be approaching 10 GIDPs so far this year which is a ridiculously high rate.

    I sure hope not. I also hope he has an aversion to partying with players from the opposing team into the wee hours of the morning, especially during a pennant race.
