  1. Man, they could use a 7-0 or 6-1 week. Unfortunately, probably not going to happen. The Twins seem to play up to or down on the level of their opponent. So I'll predict that they'll go 1-2 or worse vs the White Sox, 2-1 or better vs the Brew Crew and Cubs. Keep dangling that carrot. This is how we baseball.
  2. Since the start of the 2nd half of 2017, Gibby has a ERA of 3.50 in 159.2 IP in 27 starts. Walks are a bit too high. But he may be finally "getting it". As others have said in the game thread last night. He has been spectacularly above average. And has been for some time.
  3. I think if they can be within a 2-3 games of .500 by the All Star Break, (45-47 wins). They might have a chance. I've now tempered my expectations for the season. 81 wins would be ok. Anything more is gravy. I think the starting pitching has been good enough for a better than .500 finish. Just have to:
  4. Maybe they need a rainout https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLMxmZr3S5s
  5. I'll echo what others have said, the series against Cleveland is a big one. Need to almost get 3 out of 4. A split would be ok and a sweep is too much to ask for. My glimmer of optimism is that the 2006 team was 25-33 on June 7th, 11.5 GB, and went on to win 96 games. Unfortunately, it seems that the hitting and bullpen were obviously better then. But the starting pitching seems better as a whole. Albeit without a ace. So, probably not going to win 96 games. But it's what I'm clinging to.
  6. What do they have to learn in the minors? It's sink or swim time for both of them. Both have been dominant in the minors with Buxton slashing .302/.379/.504 and Sano .278/.373/.564. They don't need to dominate a lower level again. The only way they get better is by batting against the best possible competition. Neither of them will get that in AAA.
  7. So that's why North Dakota tourism needed to hire Josh Duhamel to promote their state. Can't even compete with WI
  8. I was gonna say that you're both forgetting Livan Hernandez in the aforementioned list but his 5.48 ERA in 2008 wasn't thaaaaaaaaaat bad. Still pretty bad. Kevin Slowey was pretty bad in his final season in 2011 as well. Sporting a 6.67 ERA
  9. Great work Heezy. Glad this got promoted to a article. Good info and great read for everyone.
  10. Great game. Good 7-3 road trip that could've easily been more. Hopefully it rolls over to a good homestand. 6 out of 9 would be nice.
  11. Noooooooooooo. I did. Tone gets lost in forums though.
  12. A .324 hitter that had been hitting .181 in limited at bats since the walk off in Puerto Rico on April 18th. It's not like the Twins just sent down Lou Gehrig because Wally Pipp was back from injury. They sent down a player with prior to this season had two big league hits to his name at age 29. Now, should have Lamarre been starting more instead of Grossman in the outfield, yes. But I'm kind of "meh" about him being sent down.
  13. As long as his bat gets anywhere near the production that Grossman's bat had been giving (bar is set low), it's a net positive when factoring in Buxton's defense.
  14. Just in case you've forgotten to speak Minnesotan/Upper Midwestern in your time gone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm-MrkoJPC8
  15. I'm assuming because this is because he slashes .316/.363/.561 in 28 career games vs the Twins. Including 7 home runs?
  16. Something about double switches and pitchers batting.
  17. Maybe give him a ticket for the light rail so he can head to the MSP airport. But he'd probably take a weird route on a routine trip and drop the ticket in the process.
