  1. Well Manfred did want to make games move quicker. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/b6/b654bb450c4e4da65e11d3a3ea36679cab72c39f66e8cdde4057acc6ccf0f9d5.jpg
  2. 94-68 (First in AL Central) Offensive Player of the Year: Brian Dozier Most Home Runs: Brian Dozier Starting Pitcher of the Year: Jose Berrios Relief Pitcher of the Year: Addison Reed Twins Rookie of the Year: Stephen Gonsalves
  3. If we haven't seen any fire outta Joe yet, I don't think we will. There's more than one way to be a leader. Joe just isn't a rah-rah guy. He is what he is in that department. And that's fine.
  4. Potentially huge claim. Some say he’s the next David Ortiz.
  5. Wouldn't call it great news. Still unfortunate and disappointing to have even a accusation levied upon him. It will still take a long time for Sano to put this behind him. Whole situation, is as others have said, uncomfortable.
  6. Congrats Tom! Enjoy the recaps and all you've brought to TD!
  7. Kinley's opponent quality in spring training this year in 6.6. Or somewhere between High-A and AA type of opponents. So he's more or less dominating the competition he was playing against all of last year. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=kinley000tyl#pitching_st::none So while his numbers this spring have been encouraging and the 99 MPH fastball with a 90 MPH slider is sexy, I'm approaching his spring training numbers with some extreme cautious optimism. Hopefully the Twins can work out a trade so he can get some seasoning in AAA.
  8. Is it possible to have Adrianza and Escobar job share? Like let Adrianza play defense and Escobar bat. In a less than optimal situation, this is the best option I'm only kidding, of course. (but am I?)
  9. Well, you are the President of the "Baseball Player Positional Flexibility" Club. I'd be disappointed if you didn't want that. Love the signing. Anytime you can improve the roster, I'm all for it. As many have said, looks like it's either Vargas or Grossman that is the odd man out. I'd be willing to bet that Vargas is out given his limits in the field. Would be nice if Vargas had a option left to have some value in a trade, but I don't think he has much value in a trade outside of a throw in of a bigger trade.

  11. I honestly think that Minnesota is Darvish's 2nd choice at best. Behind LA and maybe even Chicago and Texas. I just don't get the inclination that he wants to be in Minnesota. Which is fine. Unless the real sticking point is he's holding out for the 6th year, which is his right. Maybe the Twins can make the 6th year a vesting/player/team option. What I'm really saying is I just want him to sign somewhere, anywhere. Preferably with the Twins. Just to get the logjam of free agents rolling.
  12. I think they give Joe a two year contract with a team option for a third year. He's still a top 10 1st baseman as far as WAR is concerned. He may not be flashy, loud, etc... but I think he still provides a lot of value. So long as Rooker isn't knocking the door down or Sano is forced off of 3rd, Joe stays for a few more years, at a far reduced rate. *disclaimer* this is all assuming that he plays at or around his 2017 year. If he's closer to 2015-2016, might be tougher for him to stick.
  13. My favorite memory was when he pumped iron with bears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBjWETNkgpU But in all seriousness. My favorite Twin. Ever. One can only ask what might have been with him.
  14. In all seriousness. I like the low risk, highish reward signing. Especially for the 2019 rotation.
