  1. Based on recent developments regarding Manaea, if the Twins still want a pitcher, they pretty much have to take Stewart right?
  2. Thats because they rarely have players worthy of moving quickly. An indictment on drafting and player develpment maybe but not on promtions. For every Arcia there are 2(or a lot more) players simply not worthy of quick promotions. What??? Hendriks was fast tracked once he sustained success in the minors. Parmelee move at the pace he deserved to based on his production.
  3. Totally disagree. I wouldn't project any of our top prospects as 3-4 years away. You sound like one of those fans that assumes every Twins prospect is gonna spend a full year at each level no matter how good he is.
  4. Accoding to Jim Crikket via twitter, Tyler Jones was removed after a visit by the trainer. I don't suppose we know what is going on there?
  5. Stupid managerial decison by New Britain. They have a pitcher who is having control issues walk the bases loaded:confused:. Very poor decision IMO. Too bad Trevor May's fine start was wasted.
  6. It was Dozier on 3rd and I wasn't aware he held up initially. Thats one of those things you don't see on TV. I guess at the time, I assumed he went on contact because it would have been stupid (IMO) to hold up given the situation. The situation being that it was the 3rd inning and the double play was in order (Mauer was on 1st), so I don't see why a fielder (other than maybe the pitcher) would come home with the ball in the first place. Thanks for the response.
  7. Stew, can you address my earlier post? Don't you think that given the circumstances (the runner on 3rd going on contact and you have to assume that the fielder is originally trying to get the batter out), Arcia should get an RBI?
  8. OK here's one that also has to do with Arcia. A week ago tonight, Arcia came up with runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out in the 3rd inning. Arcia hits a slow grounder to 1st and Marlins 1st baseman makes a fielding error that allows the run to score and Arcia to reach base. Arcia is not credited with an RBI because of the error. What's funny, is that if the 1st baseman fielded it cleanly and made the assumed play at 1st, Arcia gets an RBI groundout. Does anybody else think that is dumb? Here is the link to gameday. Had there been 2 outs, or had the error come on a fielder's choice to home, I would agree with not giving him an RBI.
  9. Burris made his Cedar Rapids debut tonight in relief of my other adopt-a-prospect, Jose Berrios. Josh pitched the final 2.1 innings giving up just a hit and a walk. He punched out 3.
  10. Impressive 2nd start for Berrios tonight. With his father and brother in attendence. Berrios gave up just a run on 4 hits over 6.2 innings. He struck out 8 and didn't walk a batter. His only hiccup came in the 4th inning when he surrendered 3 hits and a run.
  11. Josh Burris was a 17th round pick in 2011 out of LSU-E (not to be confused with LSU). He will turn 22 this year. Last year he pitched for the Appy League Etwins and sported a 7-0 record as a reliever. He posted a 1.75 ERA over 36 innings with 40 strike outs. Opponents hit .190 off him. His only issue has been walks. He walked 21 batters last year. Burris has a good fastball, a hammer curveball and as far as I know, a change-up. Pretty sure he will be pitching out of the pen for a while. Not sure if the Twins intend on having him move to the rotation eventually. Due to shoulder problems, he wasn't really able to throw much if at all during spring training so the Twins were forced to have him start the season in extended spring training. However, burris has just joined the Cedar Rapids roster and will hopefully see some action soon. good luck Josh!
  12. This is the 3rd day in a row that twins affiliates have gone 4-0
  13. A few notables that are still avaliable... Nate Roberts, Kennys Vargas, Josh Burris, Kuo Hu Lo, Luke Bard, Taylor Rogers, BJ Hermsen, Corey Williams, Romy Jiminez, Adrien Salcedo, Matt Summers, Madison Boer...Among others. Also Alex Wimmers, but if anyone takes him, they should be exempt from the rule about updating once a week. At least until he starts seeing some action.
  14. Havn't you heard? Every player from the DR lies about thier age. Guilty until proven innocent...
  15. hell, they might just be 1 and 2 if they keep this up:go:
  16. Remember guys like Ramon Ortiz and Livan Henandez? They were questionable signings who got of to pretty good starts for the Twins. I would love for Correia to prove me wrong, But I think I'll wait a little while before I start eating crow.
  17. Seth, do we know anything more on Kepler? I saw the Jeffrey Johnson tweet that you retweeted saying Kepler and Chargois are not close. Perhaps Kepler's elbow is worse than we thought?
  18. I was following the game tonight through twitter. I wanted to listen but the audio on my laptop is messed up. So thanks largely to @jimcrikket and a few others, I was able to get an idea of how Berrios was doing. A few nerves early, but I think the Twins ought to be pleased with Berrios' MWL debut. A line of 2 runs on 7 hits with 5 K's over 5 innings isn't too bad at all. I also read on twitter that his fastball was mostly in the low 90's but got it up to 96 on at least one occasion.
  19. Yeah, tough to rank a kid when all you have to go on is vague scouting reports and a couple youtube videos.
  20. I still doubt Windle is there at 43. Keith Law favors upside when he does these rankings. While Windle profiles as a reliable starter with a high probability of panning out, his upside is probably a #4 starter
  21. Keith Law released his latest future 50. While its not mock draft, he does have Manaea at #4.
  22. According to Jeff Johnson, a sports writer in Cedar Rapids, Berrios will be joining the Kernals in a couple days!
  23. Careful, there are fans that might actually believe this. Although most of them comment at the star tribune site
