  1. I was just kidding anyway. Can I start a threadjacking thread? The only thread that it is ok to completely change the subject... I don't want to get banned for joking around with the rules.
  2. Off topic. There's zero tolerance party on that, remember?
  3. You only say that because the rides are coming from the other teams bats. You'd love it if the Twins were the ones giving the rides.
  4. It looks like I missed a lot. Not much that is good though.
  5. I forgot that there was a game today. March Madness/work and all.
  6. I must have missed the memo, but when did Dereck Rodriguez convert to a pitcher? He was drafted as an outfielder if I'm not mistaken.
  7. I thought pitchers were usually ahead of hitters this early in ST, but I could have that backwards. Either way, I don't think it matters much at this point. We'll see what happens when the season starts.
  8. It really sounds like that should have been an error on Escobar, but it sounds like he lost it in the sun. No harm really, except Gibson may have one more hit than he deserves in ST.
  9. I guess I could deal with that... if I had to.
  10. Happ- Allowed three runs... with only one put out.
  11. Dave St. Peter explained why all the good beer was located there at the TD Winter Meltdown. There's a podcast of that around somewhere if you want an answer. I still want it closer, but my seats are right by Hrbek's... so I can get Grainbelt Premium there at least. I've solved the usher/ticket problem. Learn their name and say hi to them (include their name) when you see them. They stop checking your tickets. I usually have the same usher near my seats and she hasn't checked my ticket in two seasons.
  12. This is the thing that most needs to happen.
  13. I'm going to have to disagree with point #3. I kind of like the fact that the players get to pick their music. It kind of gives you a little insight into their personalities. Such as, I thought it was hilarious when Escobar change his walk up music to a song from "Grease." Some people need to change their music though (ahem... Joe Mauer). Points 1 and 2... I have no strong opinions on. I can see how the dance off is fun though. And I'm sure the Mayo pays a lot of money to make sure that happens, so I doubt it is going anywhere. Urinals need automatic flushers though.
  14. He's a great hitter. No one should ever deny him that. He is highly overrated as a defender though.
  15. Yeah... this move is a bit of a head scratcher.
  16. Best wishes, Mr. Ryan. Here's wishing a speedy recovery.
  17. Nick, it's a good article that brings up some interesting points. I don't think we'll really know if he was too aggressive until we see the performance of some of these guys. I am in the camp that he wasn't too aggressive. First, as you pointed out, sending the message to the fan base was important. Second, there is no way for us to know how the market would have been had the Twins not been aggressive. There is a good chance that if they had not signed anyone early, the price for a guy like Garza may have gone up. TR was pretty much the first GM to act this offseason when it came to pitching, and thus set the market. I think when we look back it a few years from now, these will end up looking like good signings and good values. Sure, Garza would have been nice at that price, but if was the first guy that the Twins signed, I don't think he would have been here at the same price. I think Garza gave the Brewers a little bit of a discount, and probably got a little nervous about not having a contract in January. Who knows though...
  18. First of all, the Julian calendar is highly overrated... I know that we're all hoping Hicks turns it around this year. I saw a lot of games that he played in last year (more than I probably want to admit). Hicks definitely showed flashes last year. I'm expecting a rebound from him this year. I'm not saying he's going to be a MVP candidate next year, but I'm expecting him to kick it up closer to his minor league numbers next year.
  19. The beer dabbler is going to be awesome too. I'm kind of jealous that you get to go to that. I'm even more glad that I get to go to the Meltdown though. This is going to be awesome.
  20. Great interview! I thought about buying myself a banjo as a birthday present this year, but decided to get a tablet instead. Next year though... Grad school will be done and then it will be banjo time. Very lofty goals indeed, but let's hope they are reached. Good luck, Ryan!
  21. Well done, Parker. This list was just awesome.
  22. I'm pretty sure that I know who the player is, but I won't name him so others can judge this scenario on the numbers. Judging from the numbers alone, it looks like Prospect "A" could be very good. Obviously there is caution because he's only been in A- ball, and I don't know if comparing him directly to Braun is a good idea, but I think overall you are correct. We might just have another possible star. Let's hope he can make the the proper adjustments and bump up that OBP.
  23. It's official. I'm going to this. I gots me a ticket and everything.
  24. That sounds like response from the oppressive right-handed propaganda machine to me. Always trying to keep the left-handed man down. I would have to think that Deduno would take the last spot. I could see Worley or Diamond moving to the pen, or the Twins working out a trade involving one of them. That is, if they have a good spring. I would think Worley might have the inside track if Deduno isn't healthy though. TR has to prove that he got a good deal on that trade, so I think he has to get at least some value out of Worley before giving up on him. I only say that because May is clearly not a sure bet.
  25. It was a tough one between Worley and Hicks. I voted for Worley, but I would have felt just as comfortable picking Hicks. I think both of these guys will bounce back.
