  1. I just made an adjustment to my original list (vargas). Sounds probable minus the trade.
  2. Let's say that 2016 is one of the best Spring Trainings ever: *Arcia hits 5 Bombs and plays adequate defense (for Arcia) *Rosario is Rosario *Buxton does a Hicks like version of Spring Training (awesome) *Kepler hits .350ish with a similar slash line (ala 2015) *Benson hits .290 and appears healthy *Mastrioni hits similar to Benson *Sano hits 6 Bombs (w/2015 slash line #'s) & adequate Def. *Walker hits 7 Bombs w/improved OBP (.350) and improved Def. *Vargas hit 4 Bombs and improves his K rate *Park hits .240 and hits 2 Bombs? [This is the curve ball in the equation] Who would be your 4 2016 Outfielders and DH on opening day?
  3. If you hit as many doubles as home runs - can you still be considered ALL or Nothing? Or are you considered a true power hitter in that case?
  4. DJ Johnson left the Twins to sign with the Marlins and got taken by the Angels in the Rule 5 minor league draft. Even when you make your own decisions - you don't make your own decisions. Hope he didn't move to FL already.
  5. Several baseball writers identify home runs and strikeouts together (feast or famine). Others identify BB's and SO's together when identifying a hitters promise. What identifies an All or Nothing hitter? What has to be lacking in order to be labeled as such "All or Nothing"? What is acceptable for you?
  6. No...Miracle and Lookouts video different players on different days. Players (hitters) don't have daily film of themselves (from dugouts). And I disagree that no film is better than some film (even if TV film). Would definitely help with timing issues. Parents sat at game contemplating about same issue. "How can they not have film to study every game at this level". They don't have film of opponents either at AA level.
  7. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/158311380 Columnist states: Regardless of weaknesses, he is the type of Game Changer that teams need.
  8. It says something to me that Walker is a 3 time Organizational All-Star and has played in more games than any prospect in that time frame. Durability doesn't get enough credit to me. You know what your getting for a season with Walker - Good or Bad. He is the most consistent (unconsistent) player in the system . Numbers are always the same, including % of games played per year.
  9. Except it took Cust 9 minor league years to equal the totals Walker had in 4. But I get your point.
  10. I messed that trade up - I meant Segeura (SS) and not Santana
  11. Brewers (Smith; Santana; Roache;) for (Rogers; Meyers; Polanco; Goodrum; and Walker)
  12. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/offense/obp/ ACCORDING TO FANGRAPH - OBP SCALE http://www.fangraphs.com/library/offense/ops/ OPS SCALE They don't even show SLG as a single scale. http://www.fangraphs.com/library/offense/iso/ ISO SCALE (SLG minus AVG.) Who in our current line up is average to better in any of these categories? Find them and ride with that IMO. We are a jack of all trades and master of none type of team - Except Mauer and Sano. They master one and both respectively.
  13. The question becomes: What do you consider a good OBP? _____ What do you consider a Power hitter? ____ HRs ____ RBI Or is OPS the only thing that truly matters? ______ Is OPS position related or has the game changed where it only matters the number of guys in your lineup who are capable of this (OBP) or that (SLG)??
  14. That's why the Twins minor league teams have been winning championships. A handful of really good OBP guys and some power behind them to change the score with one swing. High OBP doesn't = runs unless you have some hits to go within those On base percentages. Aaron Hicks had a high OBP a few years ago but was sent down because he didn't hit. Every team needs run producers! The Twins have only had 2 guys with 100 RBI in the last 6 years (Willingham in 2012 and Young in 2010). Everybody wants high OBP guys like the Royals, but their are only so many teams that can duplicate what the Royals do and did. Even the Royals went out and got Morales to drive in his 100+ RBI this year. The Royals only had one other year since 2003 where they had a guy drive in 100+ RBI. Needless to say - they haven't been good during that span either. For the record: Toronto had 7 guys with double digit HRs (that doesn't include Tulo) and 3 guys with 100+ RBI. What is our team make up at it's best? The Royals went from 3 guys with double digit HRs last year (when they lost the series) to 6 guys this season when they won the series. They also had 3 guys with 20+ HRs for the first time since 2000. POWER & OBP have to compliment each other in some way. Just shows how much Torii and his 81 RBI and 22 HRs helped with the overall success of the Twins this year. Knowing what you know - How would you put your line up together? OBP guys / Power guys / or Both? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
  15. So does that mean Palka changes teams in the AFL or goes home and gets ready for 2016? Team League AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS SRR AFL -------.304 17 69 12 21 4 - 0 - 2 ---14 --31 --7--12-- 4 --1 --.364 --.449 --.813
  16. CONSTANT ALL STARS - THAT HAVE AND WILL BE PAID OUTRAGEOUS MONEY THIS OFF SEASON ADAM JONES - 74 RUNS; 24 BB; 25 2B; 3 3B; 27 HRS; 82 RBI; 3 SB; 259 TB; 102 SO; 546 ABS; .308 OBP; JUSTIN UPTON - 85 RUNS; 68 BB; 26 2B; 3 3B; 26 HRS; 81 RBI; 19 SB; 246 TB; 159 SO; 542 ABS; .336 OBP; FOR THE RECORD - SANO HAD BETTER STATS IN THE MLB THAN HE DID IN THE MINORS IN 2015! ABW II - 85 RUNS; 58 BB; 33 2B; 4 3B; 35 HRS; 121 RBI; 14 SB; 282 TB; 217 SO; 556 ABS; .316 OBP; It's evident Walker and others are on the way out. No spot for him any time soon with the addition of Park and an already crowded outfield. They better talk to their prospects before all of them are asking to get out of town. (Kepler; Rosario; or Hicks and Plouffe) They all have to be saying "What the hell? - Sano in the outfield? - A multi million dollar 1B/DH? - What the hell is in store for me?"
  17. 8 Million a year for a HR guy who whiffs a lot and hits lots of HRs. I just want to make sure - "Everyone is excited right"? Lol
  18. I agree with Turner and Rogers helping this year. Awesome lefty reliever out of the pen and a shut down defensive catcher to help with the run game.
  19. Rough night for Walker (0 /2 - 2 Ks), but in terms of what everyone wants with Plate Discipline - Seeing 14 pitches in 2 ABs ain't bad. Not a bad week though. Garver is a very good hitter. ABW is Top 2 in the AFL in HRs; RBI; & K;s - But Top 4 in SLG; Runs Scored; Total Bases; & OPS; while ranking Top 7 in OBP with a .414 mark.
  20. Vargas and Santana did it for all of 2014 and lost the love from Fans - So I'm sure Walker will have to do it for more than 12 months for anybody to be a real believer. I get that. But for the time being - He is doing what he normally does. Competeing for HR titles; RBI titles; SO titles; and Championship titles (best record in AFL). http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/156718314/adam-brett-walker-ii-has-big-game-in-afl?topicid=153494546
  21. If he leads the AFL in HRs and RBI and SO's - Would that change your perception at all about his potential? Not whether he is on opening day roster. .414 OBP BTW K's and all
