  1. Stop with these jinx-type Comments! Just ..... shhhhhh
  2. Yeah. (so it doesn't really count as calling it)
  3. Mrs. Chief knows a thing or two. Smart she is.
  4. And milldaddy: 'Hopefully Boyer stays hot.' They.
  5. True that. But the jinxes probably had just as much to do with it.
  6. You guys all jinxed that one. I blame every last one of you.
  7. Yeah, I think we've ridden that wave as far as we can. Time to find a new wave.
  8. My confirmation day I wore a robe.
  9. Can't believe Pelf is 2 for 2?
  10. Yeah, you can't say things like this without an accompanying photo. We want proof!
  11. I think this sums up this thread nicely. Best use of percentages ever.
  12. First off, not really because we are talking about the ML rotation and how/if Milone fits in there. Or in the bullpen. And what corresponding moves to make. Second, it's a gray area and could go either way since Milone is in AAA so it's up to the moderators' discretion. Third, try not to bring up moderator issues in thread. PM one of us. Since you are new, perhaps you don't know how? Just click on the open envelope icon up top right to get to your inbox.
  13. I'd be fine with either scenario one or two, but I'm guessing that the Twins opt for scenario four in the short term giving each May and Pelfrey one more start each.
  14. I just wonder if it's time to make Wrigley a museum of sorts, a nod to the 'old-time' game. Personally, there are things about Wrigley I like ... I like the ivied covered walls, the field, the old-time scoreboard, it is a place to experience for the history of the game it is ... but the rest? I'm sorry ... when port-o-potties are put out because their facilities just can't meet usage, it's a problem. (Although to be fair, this will hopefully be 'fixed' throughout this season and during next offseason.) And I'm not one to worry too much about fancy drink and edibles, but it's hard to get even simple fair in that dank, dark, crowded concourse.
  15. Since this falls in the 'annoying ads' realm I'm posting this here instead of a new thread. When using my iPad I'm getting a lot of redirects to .... adtrack.king.com ... then to king.com and to the App Store, mostly for Candy Crush. There seems to be no rhyme or reason with this. I'll be reading along then 'boom,' redirected.
  16. And we likely aren't going to hear explanations into every decision made. It's not the way it's done. No organization has 'tipped their hand' in that manner as to be completely transparent in every decision they make, and shouldn't, IMO, even though we might want them to. And while many don't like this particular move, some have given some thought and leeway into seeing what the next piece to puzzle might be instead of jumping all over this particular decision and opening the door once again into the forays of FO mismanagement. Let's just see where this goes and what the next decision is before letting the mob take over.
  17. This. This is why I wish I knew more behind this decision. There is probably a larger plan at play here with more decisions coming as other players come off the DL or need more time in the minors for development. Or maybe they wanted more defensive options? Who knows. While I find this decision in and of itself baffling, I won't begin to speculate and 'wtf' until I see a few more pieces and then I'll be either 'ahaaa' or still 'wtf.'
  18. Everyone's experiences are different. We all appreciate different things in a ballpark and all of them valid. There is no point in debating Wrigley when none can (or should) alter our opinions of the park, which are usually somewhere in the all or nothing realm when it comes to Wrigley. Personally, I think the Cubs should build a new stadium elsewhere and leave Wrigley as a 'shrine' to 'old-time' baseball. Let the Cubs move into a new millennium (hopefully this one). I live in Chicago and have been to Wrigley several times albeit not very recently. Went to one game last year. Cold, cold, cold ... with nary a vendor in sight, let alone one selling watered down hot chocolate or coffee. Will be there next Monday and can report on the 'improvements' but am hoping not have to use the bathroom as I will be relegated to using a port-o-potty. Yep, great facilities there. Oh, and since this has become a Wrigley debate, I've moved this to the 'Other Baseball' forum.
  19. I'm not good with predictions. I also don't like to start a season with predictions of hopelessness, even if that's the likelihood. I'd rather enjoy the wins when we get them. But I'll go on record and predict a .500 finish and hope and cheer for that.
  20. I hope you're right, and that the Nunez move was just the first. I'll be checking the news up until game time tomorrow.
  21. You've been to more than a lot of people have.
  22. Oh, it's absolutely worth a visit for historical purposes, bucket list purposes, whatever, and good you are able to get in a trip ... but as a stadium I want to watch many games at? No. Not as it currently stands. But we'll see when I go there to see a game soon if the changes are enough to change my mind on that!
  23. I would be curious, though, to have an idea of whose, well, idea this was mostly ... was this more a Ryan move or a Molitor request or the two hashing it out together? Not sure what knowing would change in my mind, but I'm still curious as to how, why, even though I'll never know.
