  1. And yet, Bernie is part of the establishment and has been for 20-30 years. It's disingenuous to me to cry anti-establishment when he is part of it; and, further, has been part of it for longer than Hillary. Where was Bernie when the ACA was passed in 2008? Why was he not trying to to get his colleagues to do more? The Dems passed what they could; if they had tried to pass more, they wouldn't have had the votes and nothing would have been done. But I heard nothing from Bernie during this. I agree we should have single-payer ... no question ... but how we get there, I just don't think he'll get us there. If he couldn't get the votes in 2008, when the Democrats had the majority, how is he going to get those votes when they don't? He's just not a true leader, imo. He speaks a good game, for sure; I, too, like a lot of what he's saying. I just don't believe IN him and don't think he will make a good president.
  2. 1. Could happen, but it would take a lot for him to go to the convention with more pledged delegates. He would have to win by large margins in some of the remaining big states to do that. At this point, superdelegates could go with anyone. In 2008, it was said that many would go with Hillary, but then when Obama was winning and pulling well away, they did go with the 'will of the people' and they could do that here, too ... if Bernie pulls out the lead. Just a reminder ... Hillary is further ahead of Bernie than Obama was ahead of Hillary at this point in 2008. 2. I'm not sure his plans are plausible. Yes, they could work ... if voted on and enacted. But unless Congress really swings and the Democrats take control of both the House and the Senate, I don't see it happening. And since that's a pretty big if, I don't see those plans as plausible. 3. There are polls showing Hillary doing better than Bernie against Trump, too. There are polls showing Trump winning, too. I don't find polls too believable.
  3. Long before anyone threw their hats in the ring, I was hoping Warren would run. Although, the other side of that would be I'd miss her much-needed voice in the Senate.
  4. You advertise doing that you are required to post photographic/video evidence, so be careful what you say you will aspire to do! Edit: And the double-edged sword being you post said evidence, the naked and all, as a moderator I might be obligated to remove the post and issue you a warning.
  5. You don't drink until we tell you to drink ... got that, mister! Okay ... Sano is so athletic! DiscGolfer drinks!
  6. Wow, Sano is so athletic! DiscGolfer drinks! (I think I've found my random theme for this season. Sorry, Circus Boy, your updates were last year.)
  7. Yeah ... pretty scary running into these late at night after drinking too much ... http://movies.mxdwn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Troll-Dolls.jpg
  8. I'm not sure that most of those likely wouldn't have voted anyway, and won't vote for either in November, so it's pretty negligible
  9. Well, that kind of giving to campaigns is even worse, imo. I want that kind of money out of it. Until it is, one has to raise and spend however possible in order to compete.
  10. It'd be funny if the Rays' catcher's first name was Pepe.
  11. Yep, sorry ... fixed. Plus added the Rays lineup.
  12. I think the money spent on campaigns, period, whether it be Bernie's grassroots fundraising or the PACs out there today is immoral.
  13. Woohoo! A televised game I can watch ... sort of ... on my iPad at work, since I'm the only one here today. Hey, it's better than nothing ... yay! And for those out of the viewing area without an MLB.TV subscription, it's being shown on the MLB Network today, if you have that in your particular cable, direct TV or other package. So, one way or another ... covered! Hopefully. And there's always Nick on TD Twitter. More cuts today and the field gets narrower. More decisions to be made before April so I'm sure we'll see some of that reflected in playing time. But for now ... today ... RAYS: Lee CF Hager 2B Decker RF Roller DH Leonard 3B Seitzer 1B Robertson SS Field LF DePew C Ramirez P TWINS: Buxton CF Mauer 1B Sano RF Plouffe 3B Rosario LF Quentin DH Nunez SS Suzuki C Santana 2B Nolasco P And it looks to be a fantastically beautiful day in Fort Myers today ... sigh. Clear, sunny, 79 deg F, a breeze from the SE ... sigh.
  14. Grassroots fundraising.
  15. No, it wasn't. Look for it at Target ... probably in the deli area. It was really good. They don't have it here, but we don't have full grocery stores at our Targets in Chicago. Anyway ... the recipes I looked at all seemed pretty easy and were all basically the same ... roasted peppers, feta and olive oil. Bam! Instant deliciousness!
  16. I haven't seen it or looked for it recently, but there was a Greek Yogurt Onion dip out there that was really good.
  17. Um, I think you need to define your chips. For instance, I don't think I'd use salt and vinegar potato chips with queso ... just sayin.' One dip I had recently, which I'm going to try and replicate, purchased at Target of all places ... roasted red pepper and feta ... not sure if it was one of their Archer Farms brands or Market Pantry. It was really more of a spread ... are spreads and dips different? And my family has a fab recipe for shrimp dip. Yum!
  18. Yeah, I'd go with Pressly if it's between those two.
  19. Hey, I'd rather be hopeful and wrong than ... er ... not sure how to finish that, but I like your optimism!
  20. Well, I have them all beat. Although I rarely tweet, my first tweet was 1/3/09.
  21. Oh, great ... now I'm going to have to go to the store looking for some fresh, warm French crusty bread, thank you very much. Strawberries? Eh, whatever. Not a big strawberry eater.
  22. Hey ... we were all speculating on this ... part of the fun ... and good to have differing voices in a discussion ... as long as it remains civil.
  23. I wouldn't mind that ... especially if I get down there in early May with the hopes of seeing them pitch.
