  1. -she won't. Have nice seats in the shade and with my folks -he'll get the Philly cheesesteak. Duh! -pfft
  2. No. But at some point this trip I will stop at Sun Harvest for a key lime-chocolate twist cone!
  3. You guys post the lineups. Here's my vantage point:
  4. Only proposed. I don't think the players' union agreed to that one.
  5. This is close to my 'Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, that there is still possibility, until there isnt' philosophy. On some level, I know the probabilities and what's wrong and where we're at, but until we're there, I prefer not to defend the probabilities until they've happened.
  6. This is Buxton's game, this is how he plays, this is why he's the defender he is. If he is anything less than that he's just like everyone else, or maybe less so if all he does out there is 'be careful.' Yeah, it's scary, but for me in a good way; yeah, he's an injury waiting to happen and I don't want to think about the Twins without him. But this is his game and how he plays it. Asking him to play a different game is as bad as asking hitters and pitchers to adjust to styles of play that make them less than they could be.
  7. And then done. I don't think he'll pitch again.
  8. Yeah, well, I'm not in favor of my hips losing that war. They've already lost plenty of battles, they don't need to lose the war, too.
  9. The Farmers Market restaurant does. That's the down home southern fried chicken place. They have good pie, with crusts made the right way, with lard. But, alas, didn't get there tonight after all. And besides, remember that I had a piece of pie for breakfast. I wasn't kidding about that. I really did. So, that was my pie allowance for the day.
  10. Breslow interests me more than Belisle ... not sure why. Maybe it's his approach through his career, being smart, and open minded, looking for new and better ways to be successful. I like that story. And, I have to say, I really haven't paid too close of attention of the two to know how they've been this spring. But Breslow's approach, his seeking out information, always trying to find a new way to prolong and improve his career ... that's not a bad thing for young kids to see and learn from.
  11. I thought that was a Minnesota thing? But if there are any, they are out in the burbs somewhere, and I live downtown and rarely venture outside the city limits unless traveling. But we have some good pie shops around. But at this writing, I'm in Fort Myers. Edit: I take that back. I think there are a couple within the city limits, but still hell and gone from where I live.
  12. That might even make me happy ... depending
  13. The announcers said that Dozier is going to be focusing on doing a lot of running these last two weeks of ST, so we're likely going to see lots of attempts from him once on base.
  14. I actually had a piece of pie for breakfast And fried chicken tonight at the place I mentioned yesterday.
  15. If we could repeat pie day that would make me happy.
  16. Yeah. This pretty much. For me I'd like them both, but if it's one or the other, who is most ready Apr. 1. That may not be Berrios. Then whoever it's not, I'd like them up at the first opportunity.
  17. Santana doesn't seem able to make it through a game without some kind of an error or misplay. I wouldn't call that adequate at all. I wouldn't be unhappy (or surprised) if Mejia supplanted Berrios as the 5th starter with Berrios coming up at the first opportunity. We'll have to see how he is after coming off the WBC (when it's over) not pitching to decide. If he's not up to opening day speed, then so be it.
  18. The only fact in there is that the Twins lost 103 games. There is no correlation that the fault of that lies on Dozier. None. You are not spouting facts here when you go beyond that ... only opinion. Do not mix the two up. You don't know diddlysquat at what leadership there was or wasn't and from whom, so to put this on Dozier is just you looking for a scapegoat and throwing out accusations without any proof whatsoever.
  19. I'm sorry, Thrylos, but you have no inside knowledge of this whatsoever. It's your opinion based solely on the fact Dozier had a career year and the results over all didn't match. That means and proves absolutely diddlysquat. Yes, I said diddlysquat. You have no idea what Dozier tried and didn't try. And there were 25 other guys on that team, too, yet it's all on Dozier? And further, everything I have read about the kind of person Dozier is, none of it was ever 'me first.' It was a losing team, period. That is not on Dozier alone one iota, maybe not even a part iota. I know you just want everyone and everything gone that Terry Ryan ever touched, smelled, spoke to or saw, but that honestly is not the way forward and doesn't taint things moving forward at all.
  20. If my parents didn't live here, I wouldn't go every year, but I'd certainly try to make it every so often. It's really a worthwhile trip to do at least once in your lifetime.
  21. I'm just not a big fan of it but have watched some of it. Last nights game between the US and DR was pretty good baseball watching.
  22. Sounds fun. Too bad I live out of town. But you can look for me in the crowd at the game against the White Sox.
