  1. Tank to avoid yanks
  2. Blue jays in free fall mode, they won’t pass the Yankees. Boston blows a late 4 run lead over NY and is now in extras. Cleveland won and is two back of us. Never been ok with our team losing out but you’d be a fool to want anything else at this point
  3. Yanks have now put up 42 runs in 20 innings in their series against the team closest to them (Toronto). Maybe they’re peaking too early lol
  4. Toronto trails the Yankees, the rays are ahead in their game...it’s all coming together folks
  5. And it happens on an almost nightly basis. Absurd that modern day pitchers can not get through 5 without throwing nearly 100 pitches. Ruining the game for me (as a lifelong pitcher)
  6. Thank god donaldson’s ejection fired up the fellas. They managed to fumble through the last few innings with more gusto than usual!
  7. It's becoming very obvious that the twins will need to win the division in order to avoid playing the Yankees yet again. NY is 3 back of Tampa with 11 to play, none against the rays. The odds of them winning the east are minimal. Cleveland is tanking and will not finish ahead of the twins. The jays could possibly leapfrog the yankees as they still face them 5 times, but have just been outscored 33-8 in the last two days in NY. Today's game is a must win if we have any designs on winning the central and thus avoiding another humiliation at the hands of the hated yankees.
  8. Really poor display the first two games. Kiss the division bye bye if we don’t salvage one of the next two
  9. there's a team in NY that's starting to heat up...whatever the twins have to do to avoid playing that team is what I want to see them do. division winner or not
  10. All I want to do is buy quick books all of a sudden
  11. was it planned to be tonight all along?
  12. I was being tongue in cheek since there really is no good time for a 5 game losing streak. But boy it would be interesting to see the reception if fans were allowed in games after events of the past week
  13. 5 game losing streak the same week you alienate a large portion of your fan base. Timing was never out strong suit
  14. If only the guys were as woke on the field as they are off of it
  15. I've seen ONE player, the giants reliever, say he didn't support this movement. Again, i'd have to believe, its nearly impossible that however many people there are in the twins clubhouse, let alone 999/1,000 players in mlb would agree on such a controversial topic. even if you asked the question "is killing someone wrong?" you'd have a lot of "yes but in certain situations"... but maybe i'm an overly pessimistic person
  16. "we've had no reports" lol that's my point. you won't get those reports. is it really a strawman to point out how unlikely it is that 30 some odd people from incredubly varied backgrounds in 32 clubhouses are ALL going to be in total agreement about this? come on, that's a bit naive sure, some opinions can be disregarded, but i highly suspect, like some here have done, that you lump all opinions that aren't 100% in agreement with this in a certain category that might start with the letter R
  17. unfortunately in 2020 you can't hold an "unpopular" or "controversial" opinion without being thrown to the wolves, called the R word, or told you're "on the wrong side of history". that's why everyone just goes along with it and doesn't make any waves. I would be SHOCKED if everyone in each clubhouse held the same opinion about the last few days. You have guys from literally all over the world, some from third world countries where everyday, just trying to live is literally life and death...surely you have guys with LEO's in their family or inner circle...you can't tell me everyone is going to be on the same page. Yet no one says anything because you'll be cast into the fire. I applaud any player who goes the extra mile to improve the situation, but postponing a game is simply a hollow gesture and does not impress me. not that anyone needs my approval, just sayin'
  18. Lol it’s totally fine to have a “negative” opinion on the guy...I must have missed his coronation?
  19. He has tens of millions of dollars in endorsements, and is clearly set up better than had he stayed in the league as a backup qb. He’s not living under a bridge..
  20. And the other guys who were the forerunners of kneeling are still in the league... Although they didn’t wear socks of a cartoon pig in a cop hat while at a team practice so i don’t know
  21. He opted out of his contract and is doing far better now through endorsements than he would have actually having to play in the league. The farce he pulled when he got a tryout showed how serious he was about playing.
  22. The ownership can feel good The players can feel good No one had to do much heavy lifting Life resumes tomorrow Activism in 2020
  23. They’re on the same page because literally none of them have anything to lose. Fans aren’t allowed in the stadium this whole year, so any fan boycotts aren’t going to be felt until maybe next year, if people even still care by then. The clubs would take a beating if they disciplined their players. Sponsors would pull out. The players get a night off, a days pay and no fines. It’s an empty gesture when there’s no skin in the game
  24. These current players probably won’t see any ramifications from some fans not watching. Now if sponsors pulled out, , and they won’t, that would be another story. But it would take a while for some fans turning away to make an impact
  25. Because there would be consequences for most people if they decided not to show up for work. At the very least they probably wouldn’t get paid for the day. But we’re supposed to be in awe that a pro athlete did something that cost them nothing? Maybe if they went out in the community to help in some way, but really they’re just in their hotel rooms chilling out.
