  1. Someone please tell me our minor league system is full of really good hitters
  2. As bad as Correa has been, you have to wonder what he’s thinking. I went from Houston to THIS? 5 or less hits in 7 of 12 games. That stinks on ice
  3. I was wondering when the twins were going to finally start playing teams they can beat up on. I’m still wondering
  4. Listless is the word I used to describe them. If they don’t mash 2 or 3 home runs early on, they slog through the rest of the game
  5. He would have been charged an error in little league
  6. 9 games played, 5 or less hits in 6 of them. Awful.
  7. A probably gassed Duffey was a better option than bringing in colome and the 89 MPH cutter he throws every single pitch
  8. I think I saw the line at 4.5 for Arizona. Take that all day. Vikings will get blown out.
  9. The only reason that game yesterday was close was because the bengals are a bad team with poor coaching. Their decision to go for it up by 14 points on a 4th and 1 from their own 30ish was completely foolish and was the only reason the Vikings even had a shot. Had the opponent been a merely competent team, it would have been a packers-type blowout. Another year where the team was completely unprepared for a season opener. Just like this was another year of losing to the Yankees. It starts at the top and neither zimmer or baldelli are the guys to break this losing mentality.
  10. There is not a single state in the union more pathetic with professional sports than minnesota, none, zero. Pathetic, losing franchises who expect to lose. Sure, you’ll have some anomalies and playoff appearances, but losers expect to lose. And they do so magnificently. The vikings were mentioned above and I had the same thought in mind after today’s atrocity. When the Vikings were on the cusp of field goal range in OT yesterday, I said “just don’t turn it over”. And their star RB fumbles. Much in the same way everyone in the world knew one-pitch colome was going to serve one up to judge, effectively ending the game. I knew, you knew, we all knew. I’ve been watching for 30 years and one thing is finally clear: These are losing franchises and possibly always will be. Poor leadership, poor management, losing attitude. Nothing will change until that does.
  11. The starting pitching matchups on this entire road trip....twins had almost no shot in 4 of the 6 games before they even started. I know that’s not really how baseball “works”...but the point remains.
  12. Polanco did have a huge K with the bases loaded and 1 out, but Sheesh. That guy has three walkoffs THIS WEEK. He’s the most clutch player on the team. Donaldson, on the other hand, has been largely a disappointment in those situations the entire year (to put it very mildly). On top of that, after chirping about Cole, he was thoroughly dominated by the Yankees pitcher again. Now 0-6 with 4 K’s since his cole comments. He really showed him!
  13. Man, tough crowd. Barnes is already discarded as a “never gonna be” because he stunk it up in NY. Let’s just say he’s not the only guy to do that.
  14. Let’s hope at least one of these games get ppd.
  15. And the bullpen game last night...pretty much just threw these two games away
  16. It’s pretty funny how the twins just went toe to toe with three division leaders, winning all series and being very competitive. Now they show up in NY and are blown out early. If there was ever any doubt about the intimidation factor in NY, that should be cleared up by now.
  17. Why couldn’t Maeda start today? He started on Saturday. After yesterday’s short start, we couldn’t do another bullpen game. I guess it didn’t matter as albers did a good job in giving innings but I would have been shocked if we got enough out of gant in order to win. Certainly would have felt better with maeda out there.
  18. I like Berrios, but to my non-statistic loving eyes, he's maddeningly slightly above average. He's good, yes, the best we have. But his performance over the years has been over valued because of the disaster that is around him on the staff. If we had any chance of competing in the near future, perhaps I'd hold on to him. But you know some team, probably the Yankees, would be willing to way over pay for him if given the chance. I'd rather see another club overpay on him than the twins, who aren't going anywhere until at least the next election
  19. Keeping sano on the roster because he’s owed a lot of money is like not selling a lemon of a car you still have payments on, but doesn’t get you to work half the time. Maybe you can save yourself a few bucks and give someone else the headache.
  20. Start rebuilding now. Cut sano, eat the money. Hope someone overpays for berrios. Trade Donaldson and Cruz before the deadline. Probably stuck with buxton and his myriad injury issues. Get a new manager for next year. Suffer through these last 3 months and try not to lose 100 games. That’s all that’s left. It will be years before we are serious contenders. Sucks but true.
  21. he confronted Giolito in the parking lot after the game? what a tool. not a single player in this disaster of a season has any room to mouth off or taunt anyone. 12 games under and have been totally embarrassed in just about every game played against the team we all expected to battle for the division. they should all be like church mice until the on-field results improve. whenever that is.
  22. at this point, what could you honestly point to that supports the idea that our manager is the right guy for the team? losing games happens to everyone, but the severe lack of fundamentals is appalling. his laissez faire approach to practicing and pushing players is only acceptable when you're winning.
  23. The twins love shopping the Great Value brand products
