  1. I really don't want to count on Kepler, Walker, Harrison, or Rosario as our future until they prove something in AAA. Even though we have been promoting from AA, I'd really like to start getting back to using AAA as a final stepping stone. Arcia should not be traded yet... he has proven he can hit major league hitting for an extended period of time and I don't want to give up on him for the "promise" of any of the minor league guys. I don't want to give up Denard Span again because a guy like Hicks is ready for the big leagues Let's keep all of our guys until they distinguish themselves more against higher levels of pitching
  2. If we make a DH in both leagues, why not take it one step further and make it like football? 9 guys can play defense and then 9 different guys can hit! That way we don't have to see Hanley Ramirez in the field or Aaron Hicks at the plate. That should make the game way better!
  3. Plouffe is a solid 3B now, I would just prefer to have Sano get game reps there more than 1x/week
  4. Fangraphs also has him at -11 UZR for his career and 0.1 this year. Obviously one stat can't tell the whole story but I'm just saying that I'd rather have Sano play 3B at a worse level for the near future to further his development
  5. I'd much rather see Sano play 3B and have Plouffe DH. Plouffe isn't a gold glover by any means so we might as well help Sano develop as a fielder while he's up here putting dents in the scoreboard Also, for those saying he can improve by just taking grounders - that's like saying Vargas can just hit batting practice and he'll be a better hitter. Games are way different than practice, no matter how hard you try
  6. Still can't believe people are worried about Plouffe "blocking" Sano. Trevor has proven over several years to be very average so the Twins shouldn't hesitate to replace him with a far superior talent
  7. Scary thought - Byron Buxton=BJ Upton? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?id=1817488
  8. Love seeing May settle in up here. Would be nice to see what Meyer can do with a major league pitching coach
  9. This is a pretty concerning organizational philosophy... shortening your stride makes you use your legs less which results in using your elbow/shoulder a lot more. Basically it could produce more arm injuries while making our pitchers throw slower. I understand that holding runners on is important but it's concerning to me that we sacrifice pitching ability for something small like that. How about we keep the stride length long to stop having so many baserunners in the first place?
  10. I think one of the biggest reasons we lose games is that we have a giant black hole in the 7-9 spots every single game. That puts so much pressure on Hunter, Plouffe, Mauer and Dozier to hit every single game, so when we they get cold for a little bit we go through a huge losing streak. We simply can't have Nunez, Robinson and Herrman consistently producing 9 outs per game if we want to be successful. It makes me so mad to see Pinto and Meyer in AAA and have to watch Hermann and guys like Stauffer play. They are both 26!! They aren't getting younger, you might as well see what they have while having them develop with major league coaches and mentors. Besides, they can't be worse than what we already have
  11. I think we should hang on to Pelfrey until atleast late July and see where we are. I'd love to see us have this pitching staff for the stretch run: SP: Hughes, Gibson, Santana, Pelfrey and Nolasco LR: Milone, Graham MR: May, Fien, Tyler Jay SU: Boyer, Alex Meyer CL: Perkins Thompson, Pressly, Tonkin, Achter, all ready to step in with injuries. Let Berrios continue to develop through the minor league season and then call him up in September for spot starts/lights out relief If we get a good deal for Milone, I say take it. He's pretty expendable right now, in my opinion
  12. Great to see Stewart pitching well, but would love to see his strikeouts go up... not a great sign if he's not missing any bats in A ball
