  1. She's a fraud. We dated in college and she ALWAYS drove a Honda. She swore by them.
  2. Does it still count if you don't remember posting it?
  3. He kind of looks like a young Super Dave Osborne
  4. Ol' Lance wasn't too happy about getting pulled. Kinda like the anger...
  5. Sorry I'm late to the party. Didn't get out of Minneapolis until well past 8. I was meeting with Lance Lynn about his poor performance since the start of the season. We had a small session this afternoon before game time about finding your grit, arm angle and picking your spots, etc. He wanted me to stay through the 5th inning. I told him all would go well tonight.
  6. By the way, sat next to Dan Gladden Wednesday night at Ike's in Minnetonka. He was very nice. There were some little league kids in there with their baseball uniforms on and they came up to him and said hi. He chatted with them for 5-10 minutes then went over and spoke with their dad/coach. It was fun to watch. He was giving the kids some pointers and teasing them that their uniforms weren't dirty enough.
  7. I did hear a report on WCCO today that Minnesota and Wisconsin were at war with each other. The reporter mentioned that some individuals on the Wisconsin side were lobbing grenades over the boarder into Minnesota. The Minnesotans were throwing them back with the pins removed.
  8. As I said in my post, I hope I'm wrong about Sano......I do agree that when Sano is playing he's probably two million times the hitter Buxton is. However, it will be interesting to see how durable Sano (and Buxton for that matter) is this year and what type of production he ends up with. I'm cautiously optimistic.
  9. I would continue to let Buxton play. His bat will come around and his defense is too important to waste in AAA. I would love to see us bring up Flash Gordon. That might provide a real spark. Regarding Sano, I hope I'm wrong but I don't think Sano has the durability to be a huge factor on this team this year. We can pray for a Sano storm but I think the production will be choppy and inconsistent. A ton of strikeouts then some massive homers, slump, homer, strikeout...
  10. I keep saying this but can you imagine if someone would have paid 4/60 in free agency? Darvish hasn't looked that sharp either.
  11. He's overthrowing. He knows he's got a one year contract and wants to be lights out in order to get a 4/80 contract next year in free agency. He'll settle down soon.
  12. Like the fly in the bar...did you leave a stool sample?
  13. These are the games that make Championship teams. It will be fun to see how the Twins handle the pressure. Great experience for Romero too!
  14. Happy Mother's Day and welcome to another Twins Daily Game Thread experience! I apologize for posting this early but it's fishing opener weekend in Minnesota and I need to head back out onto the lake. My fishing buddies are pacing the dock and giving me the ugly eye while I type up this Game Thread introduction. I've tried explaining to them I'm doing a favor for Chief and Carole by volunteering today but it doesn't seem to help. They've mumbled under their breath a few times now, "who the hell is Chief and Carole"?... Anyway, sorry to get off topic. What a great day it was yesterday! It was fishing opener, I fished all day with my son who is back from college at Virginia Tech, caught the biggest Crappie of my life (true) and the Twins beat the Angels in extra innings. Today is going to be even better for a variety of reasons: #1. I get to go fishing again. #2. Twins are going to beat the Angels. #3. It's Mother's Day! Speaking of Mother's Day, the first celebration of it started way back in 1908 by Anna Jarvis who held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. Anna started to campaign back in 1905 the year her mother died to make Mother's Day a nationally recognized holiday. She wanted a day set aside to honor all mothers because she believed a mother is "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world". In 1908, the U.S. Congress rejected a proposal to make Mother's Day an official holiday, joking they would also have to proclaim a "Mother-in-laws day". However, due to Anna's efforts by 1911 all U.S. states observed the holiday. By 1914 Woodrow Wilson signed a proclomation designating Mother's Day, held on the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers. Although Anna was successful in founding Mother's Day, she became resentful of the commercialization of the holiday. By the early 1920's companies like Hallmark Cards and others began selling Mother's day cards. Anna believed these companies misinterpreted and exploited the idea of Mother's Day and the emphasis of the holiday was on sentiment, not profit. She was so upset by this that she actually organized boycotts of Mother's Day and threatened to sue the companies involved. Anna argued that people should show their appreciation for their mothers through hand written letters expressing their gratitude and love, instead of buying gifts and pre-made cards. Whew...I feel like I should take back the Mother's Day cards I bought my mom and wife. I now feel guilty about the 1-800 flowers order I placed for my mom this week too. I guess I should go hand write a nice letter to my mom and send that instead. My mom won't be able to read my awful handwriting but maybe its the thought that counts. I wonder if Anna would be ok if I sent my mom an email? I gotta go fishing now and get back home in time to celebrate Mother's Day with my wife and kids. Don't forget to call your mom today and make sure to honor her in the same manner Anna intended the holiday. I wonder if bringing home fresh fish for dinner fits into that category? Gotta think about that one. Happy Mother's Day Mom and to all the other mothers out there in Twins Territory! Go Twins! P.S. I will try to post the lineups once they are released. Lineups: Twins: TBD Angels: TBD Weather: Partly cloudy, 68 degrees, 0% chance of rain
  15. I think some of these rehab assignments are ridiculous. I can understand missing well over a month of baseball games but for a guy out 10 days even three weeks, get him back in the game. We are starting to see more players coming off the DL and going right back to work with their major league team. Buxton is unusual in the fact his defensive skills are so much better than an average outfielder. I'd rather see him playing right away than sitting in AAA. I can't stomach another game with Grossman patrolling the outfield.
  16. I love reverse psychology! You saved this game! Thank you!!!
  17. So well said! COULD NOT agree more. This is a place for highly intelligent people and baseball people... Dos anyone now how to get red of the wine hiccups? I'm in real troble.
  18. Well folks, that's another great Game Thread! Gonna wrap it up now and call it like I see it. 5 in a row!!!! Let's go Twins!
  19. Hey Blake and Riverbrian, I didn't blow it! #5! Good luck tomorrow Riverbrian. The weight of the world is on you. #6!!!!!!!!!
