    I agree with the final point that the mismanagement was not confined to the last 2-3 weeks, but the Twins had no reason not to play him 6 times a week beginning in early May. That's when TR and PM should have switched their focus away from the team's W-L record to assessment and development of younger players. Arcia has 30-HR potential. That and the fact that he was out of options should have made him the team's first priority. Other players on the 25-man deemed in need of playing time could have gotten it at AAA if need be. And if he showed no signs of improvement after that, then and only then should the DFA hammer have come down.

    I think not giving Arcia a 2 or 3 week trial is the definition of mismanaging him.

    There's a guy who matches that description who I think would probably be happy to accept the title of interim manager for the remainder of 2016.

    This is almost exactly what I think, although I'd rephrase it to say they need to do what's best for those they believe in. If it's best for a particular player to stay in the minors then that's what should be done. Find placeholders for the major league roster if need be because the W-L record is essentially meaningless at this point.

    I feel the same way. As I said on the Arcia thread, his mishandling (and by extension PM's mishandling) of Arcia flipped me from benefit of the doubt for TR to get rid of him. There has just been too much that has gone wrong this year, and even if it was all bad luck the time has come for a cleaning of house.

    3 outs, 8 pitches that inning. 76 pitches thru 6. 2 batters over the minimum. Gotta be someone who'll give us something worthwhile for him.
