  1. And came up firing to 2B. With the ball being foul the runner should have been tagging.
  2. And the Twins almost played there in 1985.
  3. The rest of the infield needs to communicate and tell him to cut but you're right.
  4. So you're the one sitting there!
  5. 3 of the 4 teams--Tampa Bay, Boston, and Atlanta-- played road games yesterday so maybe the reason is to allow more time to acclimate after travel. Boston only traveled from New York but they played a night game last night. As for the 4th team, Miami, I don't know. A side note: the Yankees played last night and then had to travel to Baltimore for a day game today so they are the ones dealing with the worst of the scheduling.
  6. I think having a second wild card is better than just one because it puts a higher premium on winning the division. We don't want any further expansion though. Ever.
  7. At this point in the season with several teams in contention it's kind of like the postseason starts now.
  8. The winner of the annual football game between these two schools used to earn what I thought was one of the coolest traveling trophies: The Nickel (Bison on one side, Sioux on the other). I understand it is now suspended, I suppose at least in part due to the fact that UND has a different mascot (correctly so, IMHO).
  9. This gave me a sense of deja vu. The White Sox loss in this game is the type of loss the Twins would have suffered last year. Sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue.
  10. I don't know if this is considered nit-picking but our favorite team compiled a 20-10 record in August this year including 18-7 over the last 25 games.
  11. Here's Winona from Winona. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL3V730k8Z4
  12. There's one near work. I'll drive thru there maybe a couple times a month for lunch.
  13. You know what I (cautiously optimistically) think? I think we are seeing the emergence of a team that will seriously contend for several years starting next year. Gotta get a starter or two and a closer, but I think our lineup can give opposing teams fits.
  14. He wasn't jumping vertically. He had to dive toward the wall.
  15. I think he did need to leave his feet.
  16. That's our gold glove center fielder there.
  17. Here we are, bottom 7, leading 5-1, Colon at 82 pitches. Amazing.
  18. That's what I said early on, that the sleeves look too orange.
  19. Colon comes off the mound with a bit of a grin on his face like he had the shot to center field planned that way all along.
  20. Looking at Dantes929's sig line: Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... and it's all small stuff. The way I heard it was this way: Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
