  1. And 2024. Let's target 2026. I'm sure the Yankees/Astros/Dodgers won't be as loaded then....
  2. You severely under-estimate how badly this would go over with the non-diehard part of the fan base, which is 90% of it, and more importantly in the clubhouse. You are literally telling your fan base to go $$%% themselves if you trade your star player while in 1st place. And you're telling every player on the roster to laugh in your face if you ever offer them a long-term contract.
  3. I'd rather give up Ober than Winder, but I'd rather try and keep it away from those who we may need in 2022/23. Would Sands/Richardson/Steer get it done?
  4. Trading Correa and selling while in 1st place is just not an option a viable MLB franchise should be thinking about. It would be a giant middle finger to the fans, the clubhouse and any future FA. They can't do it. If they somehow find themselves 5 + games back on 8/2, OK, but I don't even think that's possible at this point. So the only option is to add pieces that can help now and in 2023 or are reasonable in price and try to win.
  5. For now, Minaya is better than him. I'll take what he did last year over anything Pagan has done.
  6. The GM makes one of the worst trades in team history and the manager can't help himself from compounding it by making the same mistake over and over. Pathetic.
  7. I get that LSU may not have been willing to get him finish the season, but people working at Burger King give more than 5 days notice. He could have at least stayed until the All-Star break. Pretty classless, IMO.
  8. I doubt that 10 days on the IL will change anything or they'd do it as you say. It's more likely take him as is or he's out until mid-August.
  9. His overall #'s the past week, and yes finally hitting a HR on Friday and a double last night. For about 3 weeks he wasn't hitting anything hard at all.
  10. The time to IL him was about 2 weeks ago. Now he's finally coming around at the plate and you want to do it? No.
  11. I wouldn't say at the earliest. 6 weeks is probably the best case which would be ~June 20th.
  12. I know Columbe was bad his last outing but that was after like a 12 day layoff. What is the argument for Thielbar pitching ahead of him at this point?
  13. It's why you don't trade the closer on Opening Day. There's no moves left to make at that point. I don't hate that trade in December but I hate it when it under the circumstances.
  14. Great win. But this team needs a closer. The Rogers trade nearly bit us for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.
  15. I'm not calling for it yet. I'm asking how long we give him. If he needs until June to start hitting again, I'm not interested.
  16. 3rd base coach owns two mistakes. Should have sent Arreaz in the 1st. Should never have sent Sano. One downside of batting Buxton 1st is that even when there's guys on for him, they are running with bears on their back. Also, how long is Sano's leash? Another brutal start. At some point it's just time to cut bait.
  17. Yes, I'll include my closer for a pitcher in A ball. We're in win now mode!
  18. This trade might have made sense in December. But saying you're contending and then trading your closer the day before opening day for a non-sure thing starter is just bizarre and does not help you in 2022 even if it's a good trade long-term. If they're trying to win in 2022, this is foolish. If they're not trying to win in 2022, fine, but then WTF were the last 3 weeks about.
  19. Trading Rogers while claiming you're trying to make the play-offs is a joke. This bullpen is marginal as it is.
  20. Skimming his baseball reference #'s, it's not that inspiring though he had a huge ERA/FIP gap last year. Is there something more there? Also, who exits the rotation or do we go 6 starters until someone pitches their way out of it?
  21. Cave is making the team. And he's playing at least twice/week. He's Rocco's Nick Punto. Book it.
  22. I feel like at least one of Minaya/Coulombe will make the bullpen. I know their stuff doesn't excite anyone but they were both solid last year and have been in Spring so far this year last I checked.
  23. I prefer Arreaz 3B/DH Polanco 2B Buxton CF Correa SS Kierloff LF Sano 1B Kepler RF Urshela/Sanchez 3B/DH Jeffers/Sanchez C
  24. I have no issue with this as long as the leash is short enough. I give him and Bundy both 5 starts. If the ERA is over 5.50 at that point you're cut. Period.
