  1. Annoying. But FYI, the audio package via the MLB app is like $20 for the full season.
  2. If Bally is going to play hardball and not be on any regular TV/streaming platform, there's no reason for the Twins/MLB to negotiate with them. They can just as easily just launch/use their own app and collect $10/month directly.
  3. If he was drafted in 2011, I'm starting to think he won't pan out...
  4. Our farm system is exactly average. 15th. Plenty of teams ranked lower don't sit on their thumbs at the trade deadline.
  5. This front office will do what it always does. Be "in" on big names but do nothing but sit on their thumbs in the end. I predict zero moves. If it means Falvey/Rocco are gone after the season, great. But it won't.
  6. In Rocco's defense, Duran was already warming up when it was 2-1 and once he's warmed up, they're going to use him.
  7. I'm OK doing what it takes to make the play-offs and win a game. Anything more is a bonus. Let's get over the hump and go from there.
  8. Using Duran in the 8th is especially hard to defend against the Brewers on the road because you knew they were going to bring Hader in for the 9th and we were extremely unlikely to take the lead. Therefore you were going to have to get an inning out of Duffy either way. Use him in the 8th and if he blows it, at least Duran is available today. If Duffy doesn't blow it, Duran can possibly pitch the 9th and 10th.
  9. No. Even if he hits .275 with 20 HR the rest of the year, no one will give him $14 million in FA, so there's no way the Twins should pick up his option. Period.
  10. This again. Regardless of whether it COULD be a good decision in some sort of fantasy baseball vacuum in the real world it's absurd. You're up 3.5 games 7 days before the deadline and you're going to trade one of your two best players? Are you also going to send your season ticket holders an email and tell them to go $%%^ themselves? Are you going to trade Kiriloff and Lewis before they have a chance to laugh in your face when you offer them a contract extension?
  11. Whoever wins the majority of the 9 games between them will likely win the division. I don't think the schedule strength gap is a big as they're making it out to be. Enough to make up 2-3 games maybe.
  12. I would do it if the price is right. I trust him more than Bundy or Archer even in his current form.
  13. And 2024. Let's target 2026. I'm sure the Yankees/Astros/Dodgers won't be as loaded then....
  14. You severely under-estimate how badly this would go over with the non-diehard part of the fan base, which is 90% of it, and more importantly in the clubhouse. You are literally telling your fan base to go $$%% themselves if you trade your star player while in 1st place. And you're telling every player on the roster to laugh in your face if you ever offer them a long-term contract.
  15. I'd rather give up Ober than Winder, but I'd rather try and keep it away from those who we may need in 2022/23. Would Sands/Richardson/Steer get it done?
  16. Trading Correa and selling while in 1st place is just not an option a viable MLB franchise should be thinking about. It would be a giant middle finger to the fans, the clubhouse and any future FA. They can't do it. If they somehow find themselves 5 + games back on 8/2, OK, but I don't even think that's possible at this point. So the only option is to add pieces that can help now and in 2023 or are reasonable in price and try to win.
  17. For now, Minaya is better than him. I'll take what he did last year over anything Pagan has done.
  18. The GM makes one of the worst trades in team history and the manager can't help himself from compounding it by making the same mistake over and over. Pathetic.
  19. I get that LSU may not have been willing to get him finish the season, but people working at Burger King give more than 5 days notice. He could have at least stayed until the All-Star break. Pretty classless, IMO.
  20. I doubt that 10 days on the IL will change anything or they'd do it as you say. It's more likely take him as is or he's out until mid-August.
  21. His overall #'s the past week, and yes finally hitting a HR on Friday and a double last night. For about 3 weeks he wasn't hitting anything hard at all.
  22. The time to IL him was about 2 weeks ago. Now he's finally coming around at the plate and you want to do it? No.
  23. I wouldn't say at the earliest. 6 weeks is probably the best case which would be ~June 20th.
  24. I know Columbe was bad his last outing but that was after like a 12 day layoff. What is the argument for Thielbar pitching ahead of him at this point?
