  1. Well, %#&@ Dick jinxed my call, cut it in half. But, wow, Parky went the other way, and something good happened. Dozey? Watching? HEY!!! KEP!!

  3. But, let's keep hitting Men-Dozier 2 or 3, and Plouffe 4, it's gotta work at SOME point! But, there's the thing- the one time out of 17 that it does work, Molly just goes, "See? I was right!"
  4. Well, he Plouffed that one. At least Dozier beat the shift for a change. Now, is it too much to ask for a zero from Taylor Rogers? Come on, come on.....
  5. Heh---- I love Dick's confidence-- "Plouffe a chance to break the game open-- at least for the time being..."
  6. Heh... does this Ramirez look like the right handed version of Everyday Eddie out there?
  7. Y'know, on the other hand, maybe it's a good thing every single one of the Twins suck at bunting.
  8. I. SWEAR. TO. GOD. How can you be a major-leaguer, especially someone like Bux, with speed to burn, AND NOT KNOW HOW TO GET A BUNT DOWN. What is going on in those minor leagues, or spring training? Why in the heck are the skills just so bad all the way across the board???
  9. Heh-- the surprise in Dick's voice when he actually got to say "swing and a miss." He sounded almost astounded. Imagine. A Twins pitcher getting a batter to swing, and not hit the ball hard someplace.
  10. OH, my, did Kepler ever get the rookie strike 3 call there. I hate that- banjo hitter, power hitter, rook, that K zone should be the damn same for everybody.

  12. Well, somebody's got to speak the truth to lack of power there. It's pretty clear the manager isn't doing it.
  13. Wow, good things happen when I step away. Maybe it's a hint.... Heh-- show of hands-- who wants to see a footrace between Park and Plouffe? Maybe we can dress them up in those Milwaukee sausage costumes.
  14. Whew, gave that lead back just in time. Got to go Molitor another exam. I think I'll get a big wad of gum and just chew the living hell out of it while I'm in there, and chuckle to myself.
  15. Say, I did notice that Phil didn't give the lead back right away in the 2nd. Progress? (Although I maybe shouldn't say that til he gets out of the 3rd...)
  16. I'm going backwards through the comments, and I don't even want to look at the lineup. That is maybe reason #1 for a change in mangler. Uh, manager. And I'm not even going to get into reasons 1A, 1B, 1C, etc.....
  17. Hey might be one of those guys who gets to walk the line, but receives a blank sheet of paper. "hey, what gives?"
  18. One would hope that face-plant in the photo is not said youngest son. But if it is, he really stuck that landing!
  19. Yeh, I noticed that too. Not a lotta hittin' going on down there in the Fort, eh?
  20. It's true, that when he got to the Red Sox, they told him to just be himself, and swing away, and not to bother about that all fields business- and look what happened.
  21. He did not suck at 1B. And he was a damn good young slugger. Yeh, he was squeezably soft, and had some injury problems, but I was looking so forward to having him in the lineup for the 2000's, and then.... Walked away for nothing. Didn't even get a bag of damn balls out of it. Yes, $ was a factor, but cripe, not an earth-shaking amount, even then. I was astounded, just flabbergasted, and so incredibly disappointed in my team when they did that. And what a gigantic mistake it was. I remember that same feeling coming back, a few years later, when, right after the Wolves selected Ricky Rubio, they had the next pick coming as well, and everybody but everybody knew it was going to be Steph Curry. But then, David Kahn, in his wisdom.... "and the T-Wolves select..... Johnny Flynn!" There isn't a typeface big enough for the WTF to grow to. I sat there with my mouth agape for like 10 minutes before I could even speak. Ortiz. Curry. Geez- Louise, what absolutely boneheaded moves those were- at the time, and certainly in retrospect. Edit: Oops, I had to amend this- I forgot about what havoc Ortiz would have wreaked with the RF baggy in the Dome. He surely would have ripped that thing more than once, hitting rockets off of it, and over it, and somebody would have had to fix it, and that costs money, so maybe it is better he went away.
