    Yes. That oppo HR was his first to right field, yes? Just in these past couple of games, he seems to have finally smelled the coffee. Really good to see. Pity he didn't get a whiff of it earlier in the year.

    Hm. Still 6-nil. I like this kid 'Gulfa' Tonkin. He's got moxie. It's a shame he's been looking like a AAAA pitcher, cuz I think he's got the tools. And a heck of a lot of frequent flyer miles from Rochester-MSP.

    Ahhh, so reminiscent of the past few years- starter gives up big numbers early, and Twinkie fans can get some work done, instead of following the game. These will be known in 'CCO land as "The Productive Years."

    Heh-- stopped in between classes- it got worse, didn't it? Ahhh, Gibby... maybe he can complain about a strike call he didn't get, like Salazar. I'll bet that's why he sucked today.

    Dadburn it. Doesn't it seem all of our starters have had great stretches of hope-building quality starts and bulldog performances, followed by long stretches of suck, all season long. Now it's Gibby's turn, apparently, at a most inopportune time. Bear down, young man!

    Thanks for the article, Seth- I've enjoyed watching young Mr. Rosario all season, especially since it was a bit of a head-scratcher when he got called up, after not exactly lighting a fire in Rochester. But he has really impressed me, and the spark of competitiveness he brings to the lineup is immeasureable. Not only that-- the hands on this guy. Best I've seen in a Twins uni since Carew.

    Only here a few minutes before classes start-- but I gotta say, one of the best things about good ol' TDaily, is enjoying the usual abstract discussions, and suddenly realizing, 'hey, is the game on?' Especially when it's a game that stars like this one.... Come on, Gibby, hitch up those trousers and get it done.

    I hate when that happens. Especially since, golly, which 2 teams absolutely suck to watch the most in all of mlb? I can't stand games between 2 teams I loathe, since they both can't lose.

    Heh... I got totally lost sometimes when first I came to China-land. Sometimes they take that REALLY seriously- like some places have no 4th street, and some buildings no 4th floor. And if you go to buy a phone, you can choose your phone number, and the more 8s in it, the more expensive it is. I went cheap, and got one with lots of 7s and 4s...

    I went to the Asian Games in Guangzhou back in 2010, and saw the baseball competition. (Surprise, Japan won). I thought they were trying to save $ on scarce baseballs or something, but there was netting completely surrounding the stands except for the outfield. No souvenirs at all. It sucked for that reason, and also for obscuring the sight lines.

    OMG- Knock on wood! Amii Stewart version, that hot, hot, gal! One summer, played some town ball in Crookston, back in ummm... '79? I think. They used to play that song for us at the Viking Disco, when we'd walk in after a game, still in uniform! Party down!!!
