  1. I have to echo a lot of the comments here. The only really valuable chips we have are not on the ML club. And heck, if it boils down to a C-level prospect as opposed to just DFA'ing a guy (Nolasco, looking at you), take whatever the heck we can get. Again, the time to deal Plouffe or Rosario, for example, was when the snow was still on the ground. Sadly, their output just melted away when the weather warmed up.
  2. I could see down the road Rasmussen and Allen swapping roles. Allen had good success with the youngsters in TB's minors, and had a good rep as a teacher. And one heck of a lot less glare of publicity, too. It's a sad situation all around, for him and the club, and it's tough not to have the thought creep in that the level of stink-o-rama baseball this year didn't contribute to weakening his resolve.
  3. NO!! Leave him be, let him get a couple hundred ABs in a place he can handle. Don't yo-yo him back up and put him in the pressure-cooker and watch him flail again. Let him concentrate on his pitch recognition and lowering his K rate where the stakes aren't as high. We already know his speed and D are sound, but give him time to focus on what's been keeping him out of the majors so far. He ain't gonna save this season. Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman together couldn't save this season. (Nor could Aquaman, if only for the post-game gatorade baths). All that said, I want to look at a Twins lineup by mid-August though, and see Bux, Kep, Park, Sano, and maybe Vargas. I want to see Berrios, Duffey, Meyer, or Chargois on the hill. I want to not see Dozier, Plouffe, Zuke, Mastro, (or whatever other 5th OF they find from the bargain bin, sorry, Grossman), Nolasco, Hughes, or even Gibson, and I want to see Joe on the bench and PH'ing. (Unless he wakes up as the April Joe of earlier this year).
  4. Wow, this is sad news. And we can add that to the long list of things we just don't need to happen in this woebegone year. Sometimes a mistake is just a mistake, and we can shrug our shoulders and learn from it. But sometimes the stakes are much higher than making a poorly-timed pitching change. I'm glad no one was hurt in this incident. And I hope, for the sake of himself and his family, Mr. Allen can work this out for himself. It seems to have been a life-long struggle.
  5. Yes, but we got the second coming of a red-bearded BB to replace Blaine Boyer, so there's that.
  6. Thrylos, are you on Linkedin? You should get your CV to the Twinks FO in a hurry, just in case. Since I'm in total agreement with those moves, can I be your assistant GM?
  7. Cripe. I must have dreamed this happened. Well, good on ya, boys. Here's some chicken----- Mmmm, yummy grilled breast cartilage... get that on the street, on a stick. Say.... it is on a stick. I wonder how it would go over at the Fair?
  8. Oh, and another scintillating Molly lineup I'll miss, too, including Brian Men-dozier in the 2 hole. Great thinking there. Maybe they can just let Duffey bat.
  9. Yeh, but he did hit that one homerun against us that one time, so he can't do that again.
  10. Ha ha! Chicken dinnah for me! I'm going to sleep now, and I'll miss this mess! Nom nom nom nom......
  11. Cripe. Paid attention for that sad ending. Pfft.
  12. No, in fact it's good incentive. Nothing like taking a baseball bat to your living room to spark a new home-improvement project.
  13. Well, by Gum, even if I hit it with my arse, at least it wouldn't pop up in the god-forsaken air. (Dead cat bounce factor).
  14. Aw, drat. Reached my "quota of positive votes" today. So, where is the "negative quotes" button, then?
  15. Well, had to step away for a while- and missed something that deserved notice. I. SWEAR. TO. GOD. If I see one more 'major leaguer" pop a god-forsaken bunt attempt up in the air------------------------------------- That is just baseball 1****01. How in the heck can you make it to the major leagues, and suck so badly at such a basic skill? My 50+ year old butt could get a damn bunt down fer crissakes.
  16. Hey, Trev- ya watching this from over at 3rd, too? Guys on 3rd, less than 2 outs, maybe make some contact next time- ya never know.
  17. Hey Dozey- you watching this? Ya want back into the lineup? Take a lesson.
  18. #RallyKiller. Thanks, Trev. Sano got pitched the same way he did the time before too. But at least he was able to get the bat to the ball, and move a runner forward.
  19. Too high? What's with this 'too high?'
  20. Exactly the same damn way he K'd you last time, Plouffe. Sheesh.
  21. Wow, Sano was totally out. And they didn't challenge. Whew.
  22. Now, this is how the game was supposed to look this year- couple guys on, Joe at the plate, and hope in your heart. And-- lo, he delivers.
  23. Boy, if that isn't the season right there in a nutshell.
