  1. Does my IQ of 146 qualify as a nerd? I like to identify as one...
  2. We should take a census of the nerds on TD.
  3. Forks, pessimistic fans, indoor stadiums, Yankees, injuries, reporters, and allergies.
  4. I don't see why trips to the mound bother anybody.
  5. He was pretty good, but his career ended early due to injury.
  6. Maya Moore > Britney Griner.
  7. This would be a good game to let Darnell pitch in.
  8. I am actually planning on doing one for GT participants next.
  9. I've got some good news and some bad news, but first I will give you the good news, we have completed the first round vote for the TDGTHOF! The bad news? VOTES FOR YOURSELF DON'T COUNT!! So now we have seven finalists, due to a tie between Vanimal46 and always33. Below I will give you a brief scouting report on each of our finalists: Riverbrian - Riverbrian's five things to think about are short, funny, and informative, but he also is a chronic liar and very prideful, so voters will have to take that into consideration. My advice is that since Riverbrian will make it to the HOF you should seriously consider voting for someone else, but voting for him will not necessarily be a bad choice, since he is the Torii Hunter of game threads. Brock Beauchamp - Brock was paired with DaveW, but they will be voted on separately in the final round. The only administrator to do a game thread this year has moved into the final round, but it was done as a voluntary fill-in for myself, who had not requested it, so I am going to have to lower his scouting grade. His game thread was a good one, but he only did one so we don't know whether it was a fluke, or if he would have performed well if he had done ten, so take into consideration that some poor hitters homer on the first pitch of their career, such as Tommy Milone. DaveW - Dave's only game thread was probably the shortest ever, and he got his predictions wrong, saying that Dozier would hit a homer and a double, and that Byron Buxton would have three hits, but both went hitless. My Twins player comparison is Chris Herrmann, due to little playing time and poor performance. ChiTownTwinsFan - ChiTown did a few game threads, and performed well enough that she moved on in the voting, but I would like to point out that one of her threads was a spot start for myself, and that was because of always33 telling me it was a night game, but it really was an afternoon game, so we ended up having three intros, because sampleSizeOfOne and myself posted intros. I think that a good Twins player comparison would be JR Graham. twinsnorth49 - North starred in his game threads this season, which is probably why he moved along in the voting. He hit for a good average, although he didn't get very many starts, and he showed good enough potential to become the starter if Riverbrian is benched, which is unlikely since he just received the most votes in the first round. North sorta reminds me of Eduardo Nunez. Vanimal46 - Vanimal had only a few at bats, but his average was very high, making me think that he is similar to Mike Pelfrey. always33 - always33 was a regular this year, but took too long going about her business, according to some, getting a little wordy, and receiving quite a few TLDNR. She seems to be a little streaky, so I think a good comparison would be Kyle Gibson. You can vote for two intro writers, if you vote for more none of your votes will count. Members with 10 votes will be inducted into the TDGTHOF. A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2000, military time. Cloudy, with a low around 14 degrees Celsius. East wind around 8 kph. Pitchers: Cody Anderson (5-3, 3.48 ERA) vs Kyle Gibson (10-10, 3.73 ERA) Bad Guys: 2B Jason Kipnis 3B Jose Ramirez SS Francisco Lindor DH Carlos Santana C Yan Gomes RF Lonnie Chisenhall 1B Chris Johnson CF Abraham Almonte LF Mike Aviles Good Guys: CF Aaron Hicks 2B Brian Dozier 1B Joe Mauer DH Miguel Sano 3B Trevor Plouffe LF Eddie Rosario RF Torii Hunter C Kurt Suzuki SS Eduardo Escobar From La Velle E. Neal III's blog about last night's game. BONUS: THE TORII AWARDS: Before the game, Hunter handed out awards based on behavior during their postgame victory celebrations this season. The Torii Awards, they are called. The awards - seriously, Hunter had trophies made for each winner: Best New Dancer: Miguel Sano Lifetime Acheivement in Smoothness: Eddie Rosario Worst Dancer in a Not-So-Supporting Role: Mike Pelfrey Most Creepy Dance Watcher: Glen Perkins Best Surprise Dancer: Eduardo Escobar Perfect Attendance: Trevor Plouffe Best Dynamic Duo: Trevor May and Kyle Gibson Best Dancer in a Supporting Role: Brian Dozier Best Latin Dancer: Eduardo Nunez Best All-Around Dancer: Shane Robinson
  10. Pretend to bunt, then swing...
  11. Look how full the stands are... There are just as many men on the bases.
  12. Dozier homers, and Joe ties Allison.
  13. Nice DP, maybe Kluber will give up some runs.
  14. Phil Hughes is pitching for the Twins, but I'm not going to say who is pitching for the opponent, because I don't want to type any naughty words on the internet today. Weather: Changing. We are having a preliminary vote for the TDGTHOF, the top five vote getters will move on to the final round. My nominees: Riverbrian - Game Threads wouldn't be around if Riverbrian wasn't around, this mutualism is similar to that of a Blind Shrimp and a Goby, because Twins Daily benefits from his intros, and Riverbrian benefits from the entertainment that USAFCheif, Gibby, Bark's Lounge, etc. provide. twinsnorth49 - This Canadian has educated us, especially on how horrible Toronto is, and it had us wondering if it was worse than that bumptious little town off the coast of New Jersey that they call New York, and had us all glad that he didn't fall prey to those degenerate creatures of darkness, also known as Toronto Blue Jay fans. sampleSizeOfOne - Contrary to his name we have been given a large sample, and both he and we must like it, because he has been one of the most active GT posters this season, and for the most part they have been right up there with Riverbrian's, but not quite. SwainZag - Swain has been very positive, which is a plus, and gave us six thoughts, which makes our mental facilities a little more active going into the GT, but I am unsure whether that is a good or bad thing. Brock Beauchamp & DaveW - I am pairing these two together since they weren't the usual kind, and I can only have 20 choices in the poll, Brock was a thief and stole it from me, but it ended up being a very good GT, and DaveW, who was going by a different name at the time, had an interesting intro that was rather humorous. Here is your quote of the day: "Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours." - Yogi Berra etc. etc. etc. Go Twins! http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/5/files/2015/06/tim-welke-mike-everitt-jason-kipnis-terry-francona-mlb-st.-louis-cardinals-cleveland-indians-850x560.jpg
  15. At least Walker went out of the race taking a shot at Trump: "I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to consider doing the same so the voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive conservative alternative to the current front-runner." I think it is good that he dropped out, he was never a favorite of mine.
  16. That is simply not true, Arcia was injured, put on the disabled list, sent on a rehab, struggled, then got hot for two weeks, but there was no need for him, and then struggled massively, but with that all said, I believe that Arcia should be given a chance to win a starting job.
  17. Hunter?
  18. He would be nice as a Giambi type coming of the bench and maybe around 70 starts.
  19. Only if every single player steps up, including Big Pelf and Milone.
  20. That wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but what about heroin, cocaine, and prostitution? If smoking weed is a crime only because we deemed it so than it should be the same for those crimes, which are absolutely not acceptable.
  21. Hopefully the Seahawks will beat the Packers again. That would be sweet.
  22. WE WHUPPED THEM!!!! WE WHUPPED THEM ALL!!!! YOU'LL THINK TWICE BEFORE MESSING WITH PAUL L. MOLITOR!!!!!
  23. I think the Twins are being nice, and don't want the Vikes to feel bad about being the only pack of losers in the Twin Cities.
  24. So, we should just put a tax on murder and robbery? Or are we only supposed to legalize and tax nonviolent crime?
