  1. Craig Kimbrel's salary is going to keep going up as he gets older, and although Kimbrel had a 142 ERA+ and Fien posted a 117 ERA+, with 100 being average. I am not saying that Fien should be payed Kimbrel money, what I am saying is that this is a fair, reasonable deal, and that people are worrying too much about this.
  2. Craig Kimbrel will make 11.25 million dollars in 2016 and was worth a 1.3 WAR in 2015. Casey Fien will make 2.5 million dollars in 2016 and was worth a 1.0 WAR in 2015. This is actually fair value for a seventh inning man, so I think this issue is being overblown.
  3. Oliver Perez is also very good at neutralizing lefties.
  4. We should have signed David Price and used him as a LOOGY. On a more serious note, you could go big and trade for Chapman or Andrew Miller, or go for a more reasonable piece like Jose Alvarez of the Angels.
  5. Here is Randy Rosario: And Francisco Liriano:
  6. It was actually Rob Antony who did the negotiating.
  7. I would tender a contract to all but (possibly) Nunez. Some one like TJ Rivera (rule 5), Gregorio Petit, Ramiro Pena, Andy Parrino, Jeff Bianchi, Pete Kozma, or Joaquin Arias could fill his role for cheaper, and probably play pretty similar.
  8. Well, what I was trying to say is that well people may worry about being shot with their hands behind their back "just because they were black" and that the community does need to heal and bond together, we also have police officers who are unfairly being stereotyped also, and that they need to go through just as much healing, and that we should not be afraid to view them as another sports fan, because they have gone miles beyond what most people have done for the community. If you don't understand that it is you who is being dense.
  9. What, are you saying I am racist or something?
  10. One thing that I would like to point out is that we also have young black men who fear that they will be shot while they are at a gas station, and just because they wear a police uniform.
  11. Wade showed impressive power also, which is good for a center fielder out of Maryland. Stashak doesn't have the stuff to head the top of a rotation, and probably not the middle either, and as a junior he had a season that you would expect of a prospect to fit into the back of a rotation. His secondary stuff is probably a 55 at the highest, so he has three average pitches to work with, and good durability. When he fills out think Adam Warren of the Yankees, without a change.
  12. It is always great to be a Twins fan.
  13. Below I will give a brief summary of who I consider to be hidden gems with solid MLB careers in front of them: http://cdn.baseballamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/LaMonte-Wade-2015-pg.gif (Photo by Paul Gierhart) LaMonte Wade - Wade had one of the best seasons for a non first round pick in his debut season, putting up good power numbers and a solid .302/.418/.486 line between Cedar Rapids and Elizabethton. Wade has above average speed and is a good defender from all the outfield spots, making me think that he has potential to be an everyday player, and at the very least a platoon/4th outfielder type. Cody Stashak - Stashak has potential to be a back of the rotation workhorse in the big leagues, putting up solid numbers in a hitter friendly Appalachian League, going 5-2 with 53 strikeouts in 44.2 innings, and a 1.12 WHIP. Stashak sits around 92 miles per hour to go with an average curveball and slider. Logan Lombano - Lombano has bat missing stuff with decent command and could fit into the back of a Major League bullpen in the next four years or so. Max Cordy - Cordy was the Twins last pick, with a high nineties fastball, but is very wild. Cordy put up good numbers in the Gulf Coast League, and if he can harness in his wildness he should be a JR Graham type. Daniel Kihle - Kihle is a toolsy 22 year old that should be able to become a solid fourth outfielder in the big leagues, or possibly even a starter if he can improve is strikeout rate. Andrew Vasquez - Vasquez had good numbers in his pro debut, and although he was pitching in the GCL at age 21, big lefties are a valuable asset in the big leagues. Brian Olson - Olson is my favorite for a big breakout next year, with solid defense behind the plate, a good hit tool, and power potential. Olson will likely be a backup catcher in the big leagues.
  14. I think that not protecting Zack Jones was a bad idea. The Twins could add someone like Soria or Madson to help improve the 'pen, but I don't think that the prospects will be elite right away, as they will go through growing pains. We could have a good bullpen, but I don't see us having an elite one.
  15. “I was talking with Mac, and he was raving about that young catcher the Twins got,” Boyer said. “From calling a game to receiving, it was unbelievable. Mac doesn’t get crazily excited about people, but he loves (Murphy).” From Berardino's blog.
  16. I don't know what Dean can hit, but I have seen Darnell hit 96, so I think you are just taking a look at the facts that he is a lefty, coming up from the Twins farm, was a failed starter who was moved to the bullpen, and than assume that he can't hit 90.
  17. Deron Johnson only has authority over North American scouting. Radcliff and Norsetter would be scouting Korea.
  18. I think it is a pretty good trade for both teams. Yanks get a much cheaper version of Chris Young, and the Twins get a young catcher they will be able to use as a solid starter. How about Denard Span?
  19. I believe that Gardy is a better manager than a lot of managers, but I think Molitor is better.
  20. Will we get updates on minor league free agents that we sign this offseason?
  21. Hunter was one of the best Twins ever, and should make it to the the HOF.
  22. Yeah, Heyward is like a centerfielder playing right, and even though he is likely never going to be a star hitter in his career he can give you good value in just about every category.
  23. Torii Hunter was 7th out of 18 qualified right fielders in UZR, finishing higher than Josh Reddick, Carlos Gonzalez, Nick Markakis, and Bryce Harper.
