  1. On the lighter side of the news, the BoSox have scored another 9 runs against the Yankees in 6 innings.
  2. Der Schlagmeister just schlagging away.
  3. Re Holland. How do trading cash considerations for cash considerations work? "I'll give you $100k in twenties in exchange for $150k in fifties"?
  4. I'm thinking the Yankees were just as happy to get out of Minnesota as the Twins were to see them go. The Yankees got hammered for 27 runs, ran through their bullpen, and got nailed for another 19 runs last night in Boston. The Mets and A's series were the setbacks, not the Yankees series.
  5. ...and then trade for cash considerations.
  6. My initial thought as well, but it is hard to believe the cash received for Morin, Magill and Navaretto would amount to more than a couple of drops in the bucket for someone who has a big salary.
  7. Giles and Kennedy--can't help but be an upgrade and shouldn't cost that much. Keep Smelzer to be the long guy or starter.
  8. Smelter — 4 innings, 3 hits, no runs, no walks, in less than 50 pitches.
  9. Why can’t we have someone like Kahnle?
  10. I didn't realize it was legal to hold the Yankees scoreless for two consecutive innings.
  11. Fun fact: on Monday Gregorius was batting .252. He is now at .290.
  12. Well, at this point last night the Twins were up by 6 so turnabout is fair play, right? I said, am I right?
  13. ...and everyone in their lineup has a hit.
  14. 4th inning and Hicks is up for the third time.
  15. Meanwhile, Cleveland gets 4 more games at KC after tonight.
  16. Twins' batters have to be just slightly ticked off.
  17. ROSARIOMANIA!!, Take that you gray uniformed devils!!
  18. Odorizzi on a mission this evening?
  19. At the rate this is going, assuming the Twins don't trade for a couple of arms, they'll be calling up pitchers from Pensacola.
  20. Wax in the ear!
  21. Agree re Stashak -- pretty good debut with 2 IP, no runs, no BBs and 3 Ks against the Yankees. Worth keeping him around to see what he can do.
  22. MLB Trade Rumors has posted an interview with Falvey re his approach to improve the team. Not terribly inspiring. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/07/falvey-on-twins-deadline-approach.html#comments
  23. So I go upstairs to bed when it is 9 to 5 heading into the 8th. It seems like two minutes later it is 9 to 8 with a runner on 2d and one out. I decide I am not going to watch this because I know what is going to happen so I try to go to sleep -- I figure the Yankees will get the lead and win something like 13 to 10 in 9 innings (Chapman, right?). All through the night I keep waking up but manage to keep from looking at my phone to see what happened. Finally when I get up this morning I take a look and go, "Huh, what???!!!" Not surprised that the Twins loss and certainly disappointed, but not nearly as much as the after the 5-4 loss to the A's on Saturday, I mean it's the Yankees right? At least the Twins were able to come back when in previous years they would've curled up in the fetal position. It looks like the bombas are back (yay Sano!!). Win today and no letdown against the ChiSox, Marlins, and Royals, OK? Bullpen help please.
  24. All things considered I’d say that was a not too bad debut. Now who will pitch the 7th? Duffey or Stewart?
