  1. I've actually been impressed with Gardy trying to get an extra inning out of his starter whenever he can. The casual fan who's incapable of looking past the current game screams at their TV for gardy to pull him after 5 or 6 innings, with no regard for the long term health of the bullpen. Kudos to gardy. One of the few areas where I support him.
  2. He is what he is. A 5th starter. He'll always be a .500 ptcher with an era in the mid to upper 4's.
  3. Due to the fact this team doesn't have a true leadoff hitter, why not bat Mauer first? He's not an rbi guy. His greatest strength is getting on base. I guess it just makes too much sense. Batting first will also get him more atbats over the course of the season. More atbats for Mauer translates to more wins for the Twins. But batting him behind Carroll and Dozier? Really? Maybe we should bring Matt Tolbert back and bat him third and drop Mauer to cleanup?
  4. Well, any progress plouffe has made (minimal) is all shot to hell. It'll no doubt take him six weeks to find his swing when he comes back, judging by last season.
  5. We represent the Lollipop Guild The Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild. And in the name of the Lollipop Guild We wish to welcome you to Munchkin Land
  6. Do you enjoy being a condescending nitpicker? I have no doubt they dumped benson, who is still a good prospect, for "attitude" reasons and not being "twins way" enough. They gave up on him far too soon, because he rocked the boat. Didnt fit the twins mold. But go ahead and nitpick on what happened with garza if it makes you feel better.
  7. Im completely aware of that. I said benson was too surly for ryan and gardy. Ryan's little helper made the trade because garza didnt fit the twins mold. Ryan/ Smith/fill in the blank. The organizational philosophy sucks. The country club sucks. Everything has gone so stale there's a stench coming from TF, and its not the garbage burner.
  8. He was too surly for ryan and gardy. Would have rocked the boat too much. Just like garza. Wouldnt pitch to contact enough. Clashed with gardy and Andy. Dumped their best pitching prospect because he didnt fit the twins mold. Complete fools running the asylum.
  9. Or maybe he's pissed he's still in Single A. I don't blame him.
  10. I can't fathom Mauer would turn down a trade to play 81 games in Fenway. Especially considering his disdain for Target Field. IF, and that's a huge IF, the Redsox make a SPECTACULAR offer, the Twins would be fools to turn it down. A trade like that could set this team up for a decade of dominance when you factor in Meyer, Mays, Gibson, Berrios, Buxton, Arcia, Rosario, and Sano coming up in the next couple years.
  11. Duensing. Thats how sick i am of him.
  12. The Twins and Twins fans love to play the "we cant catch a break" game. You make your own breaks. End of story.
  13. I'd give Pelphrey until Gibson reaches his Super 2 date (June something?). They knew when they signed him it could take half the season for him to get back on track. I'd love if he'd accept a demotion now though, and just go down for 3-5 starts. Call up albers or walters.
  14. Quite often it seems there's no rhyme or reason behind Ryan's moves. They need to clean house. Ryan, gardenhire, all coaches except for bruno and steinbach. Gut it.
  15. And Hicks is a better outfielder than Span.
  16. Definitely should have sold high on Willingham.
  17. Meyer, May, Gibson, Berrios, AND APPEL'S GOING TO BE THERE AT #4! THERE'S STILL HOPE!
  18. This starting rotation may be worse than last year. How is that even possible?
  19. This post and cmathewson's post, Two of the most preposterous posts i've read in months. He threw 114 pitches and the worlds come to an end. Just wow.
  20. Definitely been a pleasant surprise to start the season, considering the anyone not named Diamond or Correia has been awful. Cant wait to see Gibson up here. It's got to be close.
  21. Gardenhire has the arrogance of a manager who's got a couple world series titles under his belt. He thinks he deserves to be held in that elite company. Its preposterous. Really, what has he done? A few division champs in mediocre divisions, and playoff FUTILITY.
  22. Of course i remember gary wayne and that funky delivery! Why wasnt he on that 1991 postseason roster?
  23. 0-9 is a pretty good measuring stick. Actually 1-12, and I fully realize mauer missed 2004 and morneau missed 09 & 10. Imagine that. Injuries. Another reason for not building around them.
