  1. Is it sad I yelled he got it as soon as it left the bat? Scared my mother-in-law, my daughter and my dog!
  2. There's Dozier choking again with people on base...
  3. 'Castro almost let that one get by him'-Richard Bremer.
  4. The day before, the pitcher's daughter broke her collarbone.
  5. This season has been very fun and I am proud of what this team has been able to do. They could fall apart and not even make the playoffs (they won't) and I'd feel the same way. The FO still has some moves to make (pitching), but they really put a fun season together.
  6. We really talking about Gibson starting a playoff game?
  7. so, like the majority of Twins pitchers this decade?
  8. that is how the umpires plan it...they had a meeting.
  9. Gibson's numbers this year are practically a carbon copy of his numbers last year. Horrible in both.
  10. Wow, behind Gibson. That's so sad.
  11. So I predicted Dozier would have a 3.9 WAR (fangraphs version) this year. So far he's at 3.7.
  12. I doubt our team strikes fear in any of the teams that will be with us in the playoffs.
  13. When/if Buxton does 6 consecutive seasons of Troutiness, I'll believe he's as good or better. What make Trout great is being completely awesome since his rookie year when he won ROY and finished 2nd in MVP. Consider what Trout had already done at the age Buxton is now. As much as I'd love to see Buxton become Trouty, I won't hold my breath.
  14. Can one rant about people over-reacting to small sample sizes and then turn around and say Buxton could be 2nd half AL MVP when he has only played 47 games and had 186 PAs? :-) Anyway, Lindor, Donaldson and of course Trout lead the way in the AL for the 2nd half. Buxton has been truly awesome since the break though. So has Rosario, Polanco and Mauer.
  15. Yankees have the 2nd best bullpen in baseball.
  16. Mauer needs to bat right where he is batting, 2nd.
  17. calling people 'armchair GMs' and then calling them 'fans' isn't helping you make your point, it's doing the opposite.
  18. actual statistics like errors and fielding % ;-)
  19. yeah, as soon as he does it for 6 straight years... Since the break, Trout has a 168 wRC+ in 250 PAs, Buxton is at 154 with 182 PA. I love Buxton, but I refuse to put the pressure of living up to Trout's ability on Buxton. Trout could very well end up a top 5 position player ever when its all said and done.
  20. Of qualified SPs in baseball, Lester gets 6.07 runs of support per start. Gibson gets 6.15. 11-10 with an ERA over 5.00 (and a FIP close to 5 as well) His numbers look practically identical to last year. About as close to a mirror image as possible. Same amount of innings, same ERA, little higher FIP, practically the same K/9, BB/9 and WHIP. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=10123&position=P#standard Whiff of success? There's a whiff alright :-)
