  1. As opposed to Pelfrey who you only wanted to blink and miss the entire game he pitched?
  2. That's why I don't spend the money to bring kids and/or people not interested in baseball to the game.
  3. I think if we look at his spray chart, we might be able to identify why Kepler's BABiP is so low. Focus on the blue dots in the OF and the plethora of green dots at the 2B/1B area. http://www.fangraphs.com/spraycharts.aspx?playerid=12144&position=OF&type=battedball
  4. Yeah, so baseball teams have gotten smarter, and are utilizing their bullpens better with actual plans in mind (well a good chunk of teams anyway), so the idea is. Let's stop that! :-)
  5. Not me, I always root for them to win no matter what.
  6. In 68 games, we think we can erase a 11 game lead and end up in 4th? That's hard math right there. White Sox are bad, for sure (I predicted the W Sox and Twins to battle for the cellar before the season started), but if they had won just one more of the games they had played, they'd be at .500.
  7. funny, I always thought of TR more like Lucy and the fans played the part of Charlie Brown.
  8. YOU HIT THAT OUT OF THE PARK! :-)
  9. Speaking of Canadians. Once of the most stunningly beautiful women I have ever met was a Canadian. And, believe me, that's saying something.
  10. are you doing some scouting for the Twins? :-)
  11. I am fine with baseball at the speed it goes now, but a pitch clock would be just the thing. Since, you know, I believe all that would do is enforce a rule that's been in place for quite some time.
  12. yeah, it wasn't about the casting. Thought he was fine as Hal, but that movie was so bad Ryan Reynolds makes fun of it with his Deadpool character. :-)
  13. Nice write-up, but I'd like to defend the Cubs a bit. The deeply talented team that won like 97 games last year only had an opening day team payroll of 120M. That's not too outrageous. that team was very strong. 3rd best record in baseball. Now they did go nuts this offseason, but by their own design, they've built with young position players (smart) and spent on pitching. I'm not going to devalue the rebuild they've done and label them a team dependent on spending like the Yanks and Dodgers. Just my opinion. http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm
  14. I used to watch it. Stopped after a few seasons.
  15. It's that movie. Ruined Green Lantern for so many people. Trying to block it out, myself :-)
  16. ditto
  17. I have liked Kepler for a long time and I'm happy with what he's doing at this age. I'd like him to get on base more, but he isn't getting embarrassed at the plate or the field. I will agree, and I've been saying it for awhile now, that our bar for considering a player good has been severely lowered.
  18. Ever since I posed that URL, the Twins Daily site keeps flipping to ESPN for me, as if I searched using the URL I posted along with twins daily, so it obviously says page not found.
  19. I put a smiley after happy and reverent. I was joking with that part of the comment. And a lot of things contribute to actual run prevention. If you believe it's almost all on the pitcher (which explains judging a pitcher's performance on ERA over FIP) then we won't agree. Most people think of ERA (or versions of it) as the main stat to judge pitchers by. I prefer FIP, while understanding it's not a perfect stat to judge pitcher performance on but finding it still better than ERA is.
  20. Manfred is out of control. I mean seriously. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/17118662/mlb-commissioner-rob-manfred-says-looking-possible-limits-use-relief-pitchers-games
  21. Tommy, since 2013, has been worth a total of 3.3 WAR. He doesn't eat innings, his FIPS are bad and on the majority of teams, he wouldn't be in the rotation. Being the #5 pitcher on what's been, not too arguably, the worst rotation the last couple years is not something to hang a hat on.
