  1. I can't remember one singular season of any show being better than Season One of Broadchurch. Not just the story, but the performances. Though I am a David Tennant fan (which is why I tried it), Olivia Colman's performance was just perfect.
  2. Hey, he's just filling Santana's roll :-)
  3. That's the great thing about television today. Can't remember there being a wider variety of types of shows available. BTW, my favorite show ever, 'The West Wing'. Some of my other favorites: 'Broadchurch', 'Game of Thrones', 'Deadwood' and 'Season one of True Detective'. My tastes vary :-)
  4. My nephew was just selected for the High School Blue-Gray East-West All American Bowl played in January at Cowboys Stadium.
  5. 12 straight losses. Have mercy.
  6. It's the fault on the MLB coaching :-)
  7. My Grandpa used to do carpentry work. He was contracted to build something like an overhang, over a swimming pool, at Bob Hope's house. He noted how Bob Hope's family would scramble to leave when he got home, and noted one time where Bob Hope showed up unannounced (and a week early) and got all pissed because my grandpa had equipment needed to do the project out in the open. He kicked my grandpa's ladder into the swimming pool as he's ranting at him. My Grandpa never went back. He had a completely different experience when building a guest house on John Wayne's property.
  8. The one thing Kepler needs to learn on defense is when to dive and when not to dive. Love the effort, but that's a mistake of youth.
  9. I made a lot of money on the Falcons/Vikings playoff game. I don't bet on Sports a lot, but I was in Vikings Territory during that time around a bunch of Vikings fans. I felt bad for the Vikings fans I knew, but felt good for my pocketbook.
  10. When taking into account time on DL, who has played a higher % of games when they were available to play: Escobar or Danny Santana?
  11. MLB tonight just opened the show talking about Tebow's workout, complete with video. Tebow. While I applaud him chasing this dream, I gotta say, 'REALLY?!!!! THAT is what starts off MLB Tonight?'
  12. This is the 'let's put our worse defense out there lineup.' Our best fielding 1B is DHing. Our best fielding 3B is playing 1B (where he becomes our 3rd worst fielding 1B) and our worse fielding 3B is playing 3B. I suppose Grossman could be playing LF...
  13. Man I guess it doesn't matter who our 25 man is, he's going to play waaaaaay more than he should. Go Schaffer! :-)
  14. Since I'm not a Vikings fan, the choice is rather easy :-) Twins haven't won a W Series since '91. That's quite some time ago. My son, from my first marriage, was born on MLB opening day '92, and he's already served a four year commitment in the Army, gotten married, bought a house and is on a new career. He has never seen the Twins even make it to a W Series, much less win one.
  15. I enjoyed this series and enjoyed the end a lot. We didn't really get any closure. We don't know for sure if Naz did or didn't kill the girl. We have a few people who certainly could have done it and we got one new suspect in the last episode. I find it refreshing that it ended like this, because unlike these one hour crime shows, you sometimes just never find out who the killer is. It's like 'The Killing'. The first season ended without knowing who the killer was. Didn't find out till the next season. I wish more shows did that. Let's say a show knows it's going to be on for awhile. Do like 'The Killing' where we don't find out who the killer is at the end of season one, but then switch it up even more and maybe three or four episodes into season two we get closure on that case. Then a new case starts during season two and so on. Then you never know when the reveal is going to happen. Would make it far more interesting.
  16. The last 11 games kind of shows maybe the lousy start wasn't quite as out of line as one might have originally thought :-)
  17. Defense isnt the only factor that effects the difference between FIP and ERA
  18. Good thing we know better than to judge defense by errors. Kepler has 3 DRS. He is not a detriment Out there.
  19. One more problem: Horrific defense.
  20. Is it? Bryant leads him in BA, OBP and slg% too. Has him in OPS by 49 points. In any event, I think one has to take into account home park too. Coors Field is the #1 offensive park with Wrigley being 25th.(park factors). And that's 25th WITH having a great offensive team playing their home games there.
