1. I think we'll win tonight and Liriano will get the W. The score might be 11-8 but it's a win
2. This. If Mauer isn't catching tonight, he will tomorrow or Friday at the latest. No reason for people to flip out over this.
3. Who do you think we should get rid of? Big reason I said Burnett is I know he still has an option left and I'd rather not see us flat out release someone.
4. Best case is Morneau is fine and we get rid of a pitcher...Burnett...
5. I like this idea. Being able to keep Parmelee at first and Doumit at DH makes sense.
6. Interesting. They must be expecting to put Morneau on the DL. Really hope it doesn't come to that.
7. AJ only played a few games over the last week. He combined went 5-14 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. His batting average is up to .265 AJ's biggest play came off the field when he joined a few of his teammates at Oak Hill Christian School last Wednesday. They read to some of the students. It's great to see the team give back to the community. Especially AJ! Here is a picture of AJ reading:
8. The middle infield is solid right now. While Carroll's average could be alittle higher, he's drawing plenty of walks. His defense has been outstanding lately. These two both need to keep this up. We are turning more double plays as well.
9. From what I've heard he thinks his tendon is fine, so it's hopefully just inflammation. We'll have to wait and see.
10. Oakland offically signed Inge today and released Luke Hughes to make room. Anyone think the Twins might grab him? Would be an interesting turn-around.
11. I heard this on KQ earlier and read the New York Times post. I didn't see it was anti-semetic though! Ahh Delmon, Delmon, Delmon...
12. The trade to get Harrison Smith at 29 was also great. He's really going to help the secondary.
13. I cheer for all Minnesota teams. For me it has to do with pride. I love Minnesota and loving l being from here. When one of our teams does good, we can brag about it to people in other states. Even when we are losing I still watch. I enjoy when we get national attention because it seems like we don't get enough of it.
14. This will be a big draft for the Twins since we do need to focus on pitching. Twins have made moves to improve the rotation and bullpen, just not many, and some where horrible. For example the Hoey trade, which I hated from day one. That was a complete waste. The Pavano deal was good. He has been one of our most steady pitchers. What other moves were they going to make with all the potental starters we have? Unless we completely rebuild as Thrylos said. I understand why we didn't pick anyone up, and I feel people are placing blame when they shouldn't be. You can't plan on everyone doing bad. All these starters haven't been that bad in the past. Wait until next season to really start hating the front office. We are going to have a different staff
15. I know beer in a can tastes the same. It just seems cheap to me. Just a personal opinion.
16. What I was saying is it's not the front office's fault the pitching is doing bad. Do I blame your boss when you do a horrible job at work? No. What moves could they have made? Oswalt had no interest in coming here. We weren't getting to spend money on Edwin Jackson (plus I really don't think he's that great.) List me some players would could have taken and not spent close to 10 million on. This team will never spend a ton of money on a free agent pitcher.
17. They are making good moves. I like Duensing in the bullpen because he has been doing a good job. It's not their fault that our starting pitching is horrible right now. For the most part offense and defense have been fine. Besides having Parmelee in LF on Monday. I was at that game and my seats are in section 225 so I had a good view of him. He seemed alittle lost out there, but at least he plans better in RF.
18. Same reason I watched all the Vikings games last year. You really want them to win, but also wonder what else could go wrong?
19. Beloit beat West Michigan 8-0 today and AJ was a big part of it. He went 2-3 with 1 RBI, 1 BB and 1 run scored. He played 2B today and was batting 9th. AJ also got his first SB of the season. Current Season Stats:
AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI TB BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS E .229 11 35 8 8 1 1 5 11 7 8 1 .357 .314 .671 1
20. Gotta love all the hate on Capps. Last I checked he was 4/4 for save chances. Until he blows a save I'm not going to be mad. No it hasn't been pretty, but somehow he's still getting it done. I don't count last night because I always hate bringing in closers in non-save situations. Nathan was horrible during those outings.
21. Maybe they will let us use a pitching machine
22. It is all your fault! I stayed the whole game... Fun game to be at, sucks we lost though. And as for pulling Marquis early, there was no reason to. He had 4 scoreless innings going, and the way the bullpen has been overused already we really needed those 7 innings from him. Cody Ross just had some crazy good game that is so not like him
23. I didn't even know Josh was pregnant! He's not even showing. Seriously it will probably be Revere
24. I couldn't figure out what everyone in the outfield was going nuts about until I saw the Falcon.
25. Name: Adam Jesse Pettersen (AJ) Born: 11/19/88 (23) Birthplace: Minnetonka, MN College: University of Minnesota AJ was selected in the 25th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. He spent 2011 with the Elizabethton Twins and in 2012 he is now with the Single-A Beloit Snappers. His primary position is SS but he is able to play multiple postions. He is currently batting .214 with 4 RBIs. Most of you should already know AJ because he is a member of Twins Daily! Be sure to checkout his Blog to see how life is in the minors. His walk-out song is Paradise by Coldplay. Great Song! He maybe should have gone with Bieber like some of his teammates, but ohh well Also drop him a line on twitter! @apettersen1 I will continue to update this thread with his progress. I wish him the best of luck this season.
