  1. And he wants to be just like Kris Bryant, too:
  2. Well, at least he didn't allow one more run with the hopes of getting the win.
  3. Well, it seems to my unbiased eyes that he's rooting for the home team. But that's what they sing, isn't it? So you can't blame him. Especially since he knows more about them, having read about them in the newspapers a lot last fall.
  4. Frankincense is commonly known as Frank. He is the 2nd youngest Pontipee brother.
  5. He's doing an average job of framing the pitches, but the umpire is mildly biased.
  6. The saddest thing about this kind of inning is that they don't last forever. But while we're still in them, I'm in heaven.
  7. We'll extend it a day beyond, too. That way we can have an "Ashbury John birthday thread" to make up for the day off.
  8. Anyone listening to the radio but watching TV? Since when did Hunter jump? Danny exaggerates.
  9. Oh, he does. Take a look at tonight's game. Or did he simply get your little bird?
  10. True, but how often is it that comparisons to greats turn out to be busts? Too often for my tastes, I'm afraid. Not that I'm saying Tucker will be a bust. I just don't think we're going to have 7 players from the 2015 draft who turn out to be as good as/better than Ted Williams.
  11. Well said. I'm tired of people bashing Hamilton over this, and I like your point about how the Angels are just trying to wriggle themselves out of the deal because he isn't doing as good as they thought he would. That's a total lack of class on their part, IMHO.
  12. The Royals took their World Series loss to their heads. They must be thinking "Everyone wanted us to win, but we didn't, so now they're mad at us. We don't deserve that, so we're gonna do our best to change that. How? We'll make them all hate us instead. For real this time." So they run around causing problems every which way they turn. Except Minnesota. Which leads to the conclusion that the Twins just may be the only team that doesn't end the season with a brawl or a losing record vs. the Royals.
  13. It's a good thing Maddie isn't like Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. "Lord, I could not endure a husband with a beard on his face....He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man: and he that is more than a youth is not for me, and he that is less than a man, I am not for him."
  14. Well, to be honest, we're only at 5-8. Could be worse.
  15. To make things worse, the Miracle lost too and while he didn't get the loss, Westphal threw three wild pitches. *I'm wondering what kind of reliever he'll make (if he makes it). The guy everyone groans about when he comes in? *Let's just assume he won't be starting any Major League games.
  16. Luke Westphal started his 2nd game in Fort Myers tonight and pitched four innings, giving up three runs on six hits, striking out two, walking as many, and throwing three wild pitches.
  17. Nope, that was sarcastic pessimism.
  18. Wa'll, I guess we'll see ya tomorrow night.
  19. If the Twins won this one, that would be game of the year.
  20. Obviously the Rally Roger doesn't work unless Bark posts it. You want to know what used to work for me? "It's a beautiful day for baseball."
