I really don't know if I've ever seen three walks on 12 pitches -- in a row. Wow.

Only rule on Mauer is to stay away. Heck yes!

If at all possible, you really want to break up an all RH or LH series in a lineup. So, while I agree that Mauer should be batting about 7th, there is no better LH bat in the lineup, so he's got to be somewhere 1-4. Remember when we had an extreme LH lineup and getting Hardy as RH bat was such a boon? (mauer, morneau, kubel, thome, span, and on down the line. I think there were times when 1-9 batters were LH against RHP. Without alternating L/R a bit, you make the opposing manager life so easy when it comes time for bullpen relief. All we are going to see is RHP against our RHB.

Great relay: no batons dropped, lanes maintained.

It's been a long while since one could say that on any given May 27th. Keep battling those tails off! http://i.imgur.com/vwMin.gif

This will be a nice thread to bookmark and revisit. The kid was/is lost. Plays with little urgency and alertness. But a de facto MLB CF unless miracles happen in AAA with his development. I also hope to eat crow.

I believe that Vargas has matched and bettered Colabello's record setting RBI count in one month of work, going back one month from tonight. 27 RBI for Colabello from March 31 to May 1. 29 RBI for Vargas from Aug. 3 through Sept. 3

Hey laude laude, Hey laude lo, Twins baseball. <<<burrrrrp>>> Someone tell Schafer that the little white square pads on the dirt are places to stay -- safely, like a base in a kids' game of hide and go seek -- while navigating in a series of left, 90 degree turns, back to the white plate that begin it all. They are your friend, to touch and to hold. Forever and ever. Amen.

This inning may best summarize the architectonic of the Twins' ongoing, half-decade rot.

You may be correct about the change of scenery, but boy it would be nice to have his bat and glove at this point -- he's tearing it up. But anyway… I was just trolling. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/mwink.gif

Morneau continues to impress. We've got the wrong 1B. Morneau > Mauer
