  1. What little things are we talking about? Baseball little things or staying out late on the road trips little things.
  2. Here's your answer.
  3. It's ironic, but the Twins may end up trading an opening day Starter during the season.
  4. Money should be the least of the Twins concern. At the moment, the Twins are at least 20 million under their 50% of revenue. In the last 20 years, only five 2nd round picks have made it to opening day rosters. Slowey, Swarzak, Baker, Crain, Jones Are these good enough reasons to block improvements to the Twins lineup?
  5. Please click the link for a reminder of the fire and guts that AJ brings to the table.
  6. Why would Baker want to come back to the Twins? Both Ryan and Gardinhire made fools out themselves insinuating that Baker was unwilling to play through a little pain.
  7. Did someone mention the Twins Medical Staff?? http://www.scienceinafrica.co.za/pics/07_2003/leech2.jpg
  8. "Leadership is taken, it's not given" Joe Maddon
  9. Ryan has stated that Brian Duensing may return to the starting Rotation. Ryan also stated that he would like to bring back Mike Pelfrey. "he had a descent year" Is Ryan currently in the same World as everybody else??
  10. The Ray's are willing to forgive and forget if it= winning. Upton was Delmon's main Nemesis and he is long gone.
  11. wins 2 win 11 loss lowest ERA 5.59 2012 He's had his chances.
  12. Phil Miller 9/15 Second Story "Twin don't reward faithful who stuck around" 6-4-3 | Star Tribune
  13. Comments from Phil Miller's Column last night "Ron Gardenhire sounded like a manager who wonders how much his team cares. He clearly wants to make life difficult for teams in the pennant race, but his players don't seem all that interested" If true, why is this being tolerated by the Manger and the GM? I guess the players could care less.
  14. " Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" Herb Brooks 1980
  15. Here's your answer "The incremental revenues generated by a new ballpark should help stabilize the franchise and provide the team with additional resources to be competitive". Twins Website 2005 When asked "how long can the team sustain payrolls above" $90M, Pohlad said, "It's all a function of our revenue. We try to keep (the payroll) within 50 percent of our revenue range. So model-wise, it would indicate that it's sustainable." Pohlad added, Pioneer press 2/09/2010 "Lack of money breeds lack of players, which breeds losing teams and lowers attendance. Therefore, the Metrodome is a recipe for failure and financial shortfalls". Twins talking points to State Legislature. Twins CEO Jim Pohlad said the team will continue to spend an average of 50 percent of its revenues on payroll. That same philosophy was there in the Metrodome, but revenues have grown significant Star Tribune 11/11/2010 The Twins' philosophy is to use 50 percent of revenues to determine what the payroll is, and the move to Target Field is the reason why that bottom line has increased. That's not stopping the Twins from tweaking the field, however, as $4 to $6 million is being invested in the one-year-old club with enhancements. CBS Sports 11/11/2010
  16. From new underwear up to Baseball Players, there are people who will not buy unless they are getting what they perceive as a bargain. Do we really expect Ryan to change is stripes overnight??
  17. Why would Maddon want to come here?? He loves the Ray's organization and their owners. He also enjoys the Tampa St. Pete Community. There is no way he would work for Ryan or for that matter the Pohlad's.
  18. Take a good look at this line up including the batting averages. Can we even call this a Major League Lineup? I do no believe you should fire Gardenhire with the Talent (lack of talent) he was given to work with this year. If Gardinhire is fired, Ryan should go with him. 19. Great points. Last year the Minnesota Wild acquired the top two free agents on the Market The Wild fell short and did not live up to expectations last Season. Despite having revenue at the bottom of the NFL, the Vikings invested a lot of money to build a Super Bowl Team. They fell one game short. The fans are very forgiving if they see the Ownership trying to put out a quality Product. The Dome and Xcell will again be packed This year. The Twins are a good example of the Opposite. The Twins had the forth highest attendance in 2011. We all know the product which followed and the feeble attempts to improve it.
  20. As stated earlier, there are plenty of Alex Presley's in the minor league free agent market. The Twins are always an active participant. Today, the Twins acquired St. Paul Saints Pitcher Mark Hamburger for a few thousand dollars. Hamburger, may even have more up side then newly acquired Duke Welker. Why bother trading for these type of players. They can be picked up for next to nothing.
  21. I wonder what Ryan would do if the roles were reversed. Would Ryan cough up two million dollars for a 30 day rental?? I highly doubt it.
  22. Last year, the Twins signed Saints Closer Dan Sattler. His Fast ball was in the mid 90's Sattler started in Ft. Myers and proceeded to rise to Rochester. His season ended early with T.J. surgery.
  23. Hamburger may have more upside then the pitcher (duke welker) the Twins received for Morneau. Kind of ironic.
  24. Hard throwing carrier Minor Leaguer with control issues. Welker may be the second coming of Jim Hoey.
