  1. I agree it was the right move, but Molitor has been around baseball a long time. He should have seen that May's head wasn't right when he stepped on the mound. Should have yanked him for Casey Fien after the first walk. Fien isn't perfect, but at least he's a veteran.
  2. Too damn many BP fastballs. Well, that's young pitchers for you. And inexperienced managers. Molitor should have yanked May after the first walk.
  3. One thing Duffey (and Suzuki) should know is that after you strike out a guy with three curves in the dirt, the next guy WILL be looking for the curve, so don't throw the "get me over" first pitch curve. Instead, throw the curve in the dirt, or a fastball low and in.
  4. Morris was talking about how a great hitter can set up a pitcher. Dallas Keuchel has now struck out Miguel Sano twice with a big, inside curve. See if Keuchel tries it again next at-bat. See if Sano figures it out.
  5. Not a bad outing by Extra E. Been using his Cosmic Mind Bender to get a ton of outs. Only Altuve seems able to make solid contact with it. Clever little rascal!
  6. I miss the vast, peaceful herds of lobster that used to roam the plains in their millions. Native American tribes made use of the entire animal, constructing tools and dwellings from their chitinous exoskeletons...
  7. Dallas Keuchel is confused. Those pitches were all strikes until just now!
  8. Nice work by Duffey. This guy is a good pitcher. Why did we not hear anything about him before he came up? He's very good!
  9. Meanwhile, the home plate ump hasn't given Duffey a single strike over the left side of the plate. He's making Duffey throw the ball fully inside the zone, while Dallas Keuchel gets strikes called _three inches_ farther outside.
  10. They just showed the slo-mo of Escobar's swing. What a beautiful adjustment he made, delaying his release for a click, but keeping the bat cocked really tight. Quite a piece of hitting.
  11. Where did that ball land? OMG, a guy caught that with his bare hand in the promenade!
  12. That's blatant pandering. Thank you!
  13. Did you wear a white terrycloth shirt? ;-)
  14. Yep, Dallas Keuchel is getting calls off the outside corner. Duffey is not getting the exact same spot. Bad ump, bad.
  15. Whoa, Dozier hammered that ball. How far..?
  16. Dick's wrong about Duffey's "get me over" curve. Hitters lay off it on the first pitch because they can't hit it, not because they're looking for a heater. Most major league hitters won't swing at a first-pitch curve, but Duffey's is better than that.
  17. Shoot, that's an error on Plouffe. They didn't call it, but it bounced off his glove. Error.
  18. Keep throwing those curves, baby. They can NOT handle it.
  19. Damn, Buxton slugged that one, but too much air time. Good news is, he's finding the ball. Won't be long now before he starts racking up hits.
  20. That's more like it. Extra E has remembered his out pitch. Let's see 60 percent curves all day!
  21. I'm already getting really pissed at the plate umpire. He's screwing Tyler Duffey on those outer half pitches.
  22. The home plate ump gave at least a couple of those outside pitches to Dallas Keuchel. I hate inconsistent plate umpires.
  23. Looks like Dallas Keuchel throws a lot of fade-left change up's off the left corner of the plate. Fooled the ump on at least one of them. Almost like a screw ball the way it breaks.
  24. Wow, it's true. Dallas Keuchel really does pitch like Frank Viola. The man is an artist.
  25. Tyler Duffey brought his good curve today. That's a very good sign.
