  1. Alex is wise.
  2. Willingham
  3. The wild pitch is what cost him the game.
  4. If Plouffe wants a chance, he better get his head in the game. Letting a ball drop in and running right into a double play is little league ball at best.
  5. Agreed. He's ruined Gopher hockey telecasts, and now he is doing the same with the Twins.
  6. Sure looks that way. Just move Mauer over to 3rd next.
  7. True that McCallum and Carr didn't pan out, but I think Oakes is far superior to Carr. I am of the opinion that Oakes is the best Gophers pitcher since Perkins. I also think Oakes is the best "pitcher" I've seen with the Gophers. He gets plety of strikeouts, but he really knows how to pitcher and work a hitter. I think he has a good shot at making the show one day.
  8. If the Twins don't trade their best asset in Span, they likely will be looking at an extra year or two before returning to the top, and Span won't be here anyway. The minors have more prospects at the dish than the mound, the Twins need to fine some starting pitching. Span Will be traded by mid July.
  9. My issue is with your 3rd point. Payroll has gone down 13 million already since last year. Payroll is probably going down further since no one is going to the games of a 7-21 team. The Polads need to sell the team to someone who wants to win, not just turn a nickel into a dime.
  10. I do question if it is merited as I question Gardy often, but I don't think Connie Mack could win with this groups lack of talent. The problem is we won for many years and don't have top end talent in AAA or AA. Management is either too dumb or cheap to get free agents to offset this. So, imo any manager we get with struggle with this team for the next three years.
  11. Yeah, funny how many people missed it.
  12. I don't support the Twins ownership. Man I wish they'd sell the team to someone who wants to win.
  13. I wish someone could unravel the Slama mystery. Gardy must not like him or something. What could Slama get us in a trade since we refuse to call him up?
  14. He'll either lower the walk total and the talk will subside, or the walks will likely catch up with him and he'll be outrighted this summer.
  15. Does anyone knw of any data that may suggest the amount of increased risk in power arms over the Twins type contact pitchers? It must play into their strategy, right?
  16. I've read the Twins might be looking at the Red Sox as well since they now could use a CF. The Rangers would be ideal.
  17. Without a doubt, Span is the main trading piece, and I would be disappointed in TR if he did not trade him before the trade deadline. The sooner, the better imo. I like Span, think he's a very good lead off hitter, but we need more pieces to the puzzle and trading him likely improves the team as a whole. TR has to try it.
  18. While I agree this organization needs a couple pitchers who can miss bats, but I do not want them to draft a kid who already has arm problems. I think Goilitto will be a wasted pick.
  19. lol. My 11 yr old is a better hitter than Butera. It doesn't even narrow it down in the general population.
  20. Completely agree, its a trade that needs to be made. Start with Boston and see what the going rate is. I sincerely hope TR has already done this.
  21. Honestly, could we get anything higher than single A prospects? I can't see teams giving up any prospects close to the show for Capps.
  22. I guess I sounded a bit harsh, but talk about beating a dead horse.
  23. I follow the team and I think he's the best starter on the team since Perkins. I have no idea how he is viewed in the draft. Seems like a Twins pitcher, low 90's (atleasat on the Gophers gun behind home) and good control.
  24. I personally don't care if the Twins keep or fire him, That said, his teams were underdogs in every series for a reason. Ortiz and Hardy were hurt most of the time they were here. No one wanted Ortiz when the Twins dumped him. What exactly have Lohse, Blake, and Humber done to say they've excelled? Humber was being skipped in the rotation before his day in the sun. I see a whole lot of revisionist history here.
  25. This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've read on this site. Priorities are with his family, we get for the 100th time you want him gone.
