  1. Are they taking on the personality of the manager. Laid back and no emotion and fire. Really miss Eddie. Really unwatchable.
  2. Add in Jeffers and catching is a big problem. Jeffers looks extremely weak against big league pitching. And Rooker appears to not be a big league hitter. One thing that the writer doesn’t mention is that Rosario is a big loss. He could do it all...hitting and fielding and an emotional leader.
  3. They are taking on the personality of the manager. Too relaxed, no fight and too laid back. And too much analytics instead of emphasizing hustle and determination. They look disinterested and certainly out of baseball conditioning. Looks like a big country club atmosphere. Hard too watch...good thing for hockey tonight and golf on the weekends.
  4. After reading the 4th paragraph I was wondering if I was reading about baseball or in some statistics class. I know this is in the minority on this site but this type of stuff is hurting baseball. Baseball needs more action for fans not over analysis. Reusse recently wrote a great article on Baldelli that symbolizes the problems with baseball. Baseball needs more excitement to keep up with football and basketball. The other day I watched hockey instead of baseball and in the past that never would happen.
  5. Yes, extremely poor managing. I also think that catching is a problem. Championship teams have solid catching. But, it’s not as glaring as the thoughts of the other posters. Just a bad team now....as a person who hardly missed a game over the years.....just hard to watch. Turned them off last night. But, the front office are not traditional in baseball operations and they have their plan.
  6. Guys like most of these writers are more interested in analytics than baseball. They know more about statistics than the game itself. As a life long fan the game is becoming too boring. Too many strikeouts and home runs. Not enough action. Really disagree with the part about the bullpen.
  7. No they need a leader as manager. Hard to even watch this team
  8. The manager has to use feel and common sense at times. He just sticks to his pre-game plan no matter what. No creativity at all....
  9. What is the reason for not putting Rogers in against Seager? I think the manager needs a little more feel in managing games. Seems like everything is pre-planned.
  10. Just my opinion. He can see the guys around him......time to ask for trade, or movement some where else.
  11. I think Rooker should start looking around for another organization. This will be a big set back for him mentally. This demotion tells him what the Twins think of his future.
  12. Really disappointed that Morneau is the lead analyst. Too boring and a monotone voice. And is really a good person but announcing is not for him. And never stops talking. I usually put the sound down so low that his voice is mufffled. Really miss Bert. The good point is I can watch a lot of golf on the weekends and the radio on for baseball.
  13. No we are not a small market team but mid-market which is a big difference.
  14. Too much of a country club atmosphere with this team starting in spring training. Historically in any sport teams and players need some discipline and toughness. And Rocco hasn’t proven that he’s a game manager yet.
  15. I have a hunch he may be gone when some of the young guys are ready like Kirloff, and others. As of now he is too easy of an out.
  16. Nick wrote a very good article. The front office has created a good product both on and off the field. The one thing I question is Morneau as an announcer. Probably the worst that I’ve listened to...too much non-stop talk and too much analysis. Bert had some humor and color. I put the sound down so that it is mumbled. This would not be a problem for most people but when you watch all the games........?
  17. They need starting pitching with quality.
  18. The point is that he is a good runner which also translates to the outfield.
  19. All I know is that he can do three things in baseball that most can do only one or two. and that is: Steal a base, hit a home run, and throw a runner out. I’ve said this before. And he has that intangible thing and charisma that all teams need.
  20. Rosario can do three things that not many can do as a whole. Some can do one or two. But Rosario can: 1. Hit a home run. 2. Steal a base. 3. Throw a runner out. Hard to trade a player like that.
  21. The problem is the Pohlads. Not even the slightest interest in baseball. All businesses need leadership from ownership. We don’t have that. And never an article in the Star Tribune evaluating this weak ownership. Gripes they’ve tried to at one time sell the team and once tried to contract. Just interested in the money.
  22. I think Morneau is a great person and very well mannered. But, to me he is too boring and tedious as an announcer. Talks too much and tries to analyze every single play. He should take a cue from Vin Sculley. A little quiet time is good. It’s television and we can see the play unfolding. Also, Bert brought some levity to the booth.
