  1. We're sure showing them this game how bad their bullpen is, aren't we?
  2. I'm not feeling good about this.
  3. I'd like to see that spreadsheet and verify that point.
  4. Who gave their approval for that to happen? Any hands?
  5. I feel a double play grounder coming.
  6. Likely he'll be stranded there anyway.
  7. Maybe for most teams, but not for this one.
  8. Do you honestly think that the Pohlads even care? I don't. Such a scenario would probably mean they'd cut the payroll even more than they've already done, thus beginning the death spiral.
  9. Asking/begging for this team to score even one run might be more than they're capable of doing at this stage of the season. Rather pathetic IMO.
  10. You mean we did? When was that?
  11. I agree that the smaller payroll is far from the biggest or only problem here. However, a below average payroll, combined with an apparently clueless sense on how to run a MLB-caliber team effectively and efficiently, has seemingly led us to this point. I also can't shake the thought that this whole season was an exercise in maximizing ownership profit, over everything else.
  12. True. But I think there's a very strong likelihood that that's how it all plays out in the end. Disappointing and disgusting!
  13. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. AGAIN! Mostly due to the generally inept bats.
  14. Plus: A major league caliber centerfielder for when Buxton is down for an extended period of time. Team speed, up and down the lineup. *AND* Better situational awareness and hitting, all the way around. Problem is, I'd be shocked if they even attempted to act on as many as half of these, let alone actually accomplishing something.
  15. Is what we're currently running out there game after game worthy of a playoff team?? IMO, no it isn't, by a very large margin.
  16. And precious little of a positive nature done with them.
  17. I'd like to fire the ownership group and the baseball side of the front office, too. Unfortunately, I don't have the power to do any of that.
  18. It's hard to have emotion and energy when the team's morale is lower than a snake's belly in a ravine.
  19. I'm a friend of some diehard Reds fans and one of their biggest complaints lately has been their difficulties in scoring runs. Sure could have fooled me! They're not having any problems at all thus far in the series. I think it's about time we give up this charade of trying to be a playoff team because, right now, we're not even remotely close to that level. And I just don't see our fortunes changing for the better before the end of this season.
  20. Must be the invisible man, because no one has seen him.
  21. Good in and of itself. However, the two problems I see here are that: (1) It obviously doesn't do anything to help a bullpen that, except for Jax, has pretty much been a disaster zone most of the season. (2) It doesn't do much of anything to address a spate of largely unprofessional at-bats we've been seeing for far too long now.
