    The situation: right handed veteran pitcher, left handed hitter, two outs, bases loaded, 39 yr old runner, very good catcher. The assumption: that the 39 yr old can run 75 feet before the veteran pitcher, who is looking right at him, can throw a baseball 60 feet. The result: As expected! Substitute a left handed pitcher, and a right handed batter, and I might even consider it. This was stupid, and pure Torri, making it all about Torii!

    If he starts throwing a lot of high velocity splitters, his arm is a disaster waiting to happen.maybe the Twins, in this situation, should let that be some other teams problem?

    Often slo motion replay clarifies a call, in this case it seems to complicate it. Seeing it full speed ,ales it look much cleaner and legal. Seeing it slow speed muddies the issue. But the umpires saw it only once, and at game speed.

    I agree with Jimmer on this, he took all the steps, he just speeded them up. In principle not any different than the slide step Dick/Bert mention ad nausea. And it can't be a quick pitch because the batter was set after a reasonable time between pitches. This is the first time I have seen the play, and it never occurred to me that Guthrie is right handed. This put a batter in the LH box, the pitcher facing Hunter, two outs, and a hit away from a big inning. The only balk here was in Hunters brain. As for the oft mentioned "nod" from Molly? What would you expect, he has done everything Torii has wanted so far, why change now.

    I am not sure what inning the bunt was, but that would have violated one of those unwritten rules, everyone writes about. After a certain time you don't bunt your way out of a no hitter. I am likely in the minority here, but I think those rules are ok, as long as you follow ALL of them, including the one about not hitting anyone above the waist.

    . Pinto is a avg 90 mph guy with good control and moves the ball around. Our orginisation has no room for pitchers like that! . You know you are on TD when the Whore of Baylon and Nishi are not only used in the same sentence, but the Babylon Bad Girl looks good in comparison!

    . I am surprised a mod did not flag this! It's one of the most negative comments I have ever saw on TD regarding a player! Hoping to see Nolasco replace a pitcher, is an a insult above and beyond normal TD decorum and should not be tolerated!

    I would trade Hunter last week, but if I remember correctly he has a no trade contract. While we always wonder why the Twins wanted him, the other question is why did he sign here, to this forsaken operation? Guaranteed playing time? RF guaranteed? WARM FUZZY FEELINGS FOR THE FANS. I just don't think money was the determining factor.

    I guarantee at the end of an inning wherein the 9th batter has appeared, any announcer will proclaim that "the team has batted around". Dick will say, "well Jim Bob grounds out to second to retire the side. But the Twins bat around and score 3 times, leaving the bases loaded for the 8th consecutive inning"! Bert responds, "my birthday is only 247 days away".

    . Jimmer has let his distaste for Dick/Bert cloud his normally reliable judgement! It's actually 9. 10 would be batting the "second time around"! A word of caution, if you see this during a Twins offensive inning, dial 911. You are obviously suffering from a delusional breakdown, and should seek immediate medical attention!
