  1. To have 56,000 eyes watching, quite a few fans must have had that extra eye in the middle of their forehead. Like the ones the Twilight Zone aliens often featured. Accounting for 28,000 eager tongues would require me to go further into the science fiction archives. Besides, I think in the Bible it said "an eager tongue is the devils workshop"? Or something like that.
  2. Suzuki would not have to be traded, if we had not yet again bought high. Well, that's water under the dam. I know Pinto has struggled recently, but if we want someone to hit .230 with no pop, and miss about 3 pitches a game, I think Josmil can do that. Remember, catching Deduno was not exactly a fair comparison. I never figured that one out!
  3. I agree, but some of Hunters problems, were caused by his complaint about strike one, a pitch Foxy said was a strike, and his recent whining about balls and strikes in general. He and Dozier have not been real happy about the strikes zones of many umps. But as Dick/Bert often allude to, if you show the guy up on an early strike, don't be taking anything else off the corner!
  4. He looked like Mad Dog Vachon in the good old AWA days.
  5. It took KC a long time to get all their talent to produce. Every prospect we have brought up has struggled, and likely will. There's going to be an acclimation period for all. Treading water with the current roster is wasting time. Standings aside, if you have Suzuki in the 5 hole, and not one PH on the bench, you are in essence treading water. And there are only two outcomes to extended water treading. Someone comes to help you or......................
  6. That quote might end up on Daves tombstone. Lol
  7. I just picked up the eight inning on TIVO. Torii seemed unhappy?
  8. at least your wife thinks of you!
  9. More questionable defense, and another unearned, or should be unearned run!
  10. You are a contending team, with Suzuki hitting 5, and Shane hitting in that situation? ??
  11. KC or not, Perez is a joy to watch catch!
  12. Is this a Twins game, or Groundhog Day? Suzuki is STILL in the 5 hole?
  13. We will have to score some runs for them to pitch.
  14. But, but we got him for next year also! . In fairness, maybe he should catch a little less. Pinto really would not play any worse than Suzuki has for the last 3 weeks.
  15. Definitely a different thought process by the manager. I was sure Polanco was going to ride the pine, or fiberglass, or aluminum. And he would have last year, especially after they just re-annointed double E as the SS. There's a new sheriff in town!
  16. Some guys don't do well in certain spots.they let the spot they hit in change their approach. And there is more self inflicted pressure if you are put in a middle of the order spot. Not everyone is mentally suited for it.
  17. Sell high just for once. Or maybe we could repeat the Suzuki experience?
  18. I am never surprised by anything the Twins do. But it would seem odd that they just put EE back at SS, and then sit him a game with the future guy here for one day. If it was Gardy, I know Polance would pinch run in the 9th. It will be interesting to see what Molly does.. EE back to left field?
  19. I agree. BUT, if they don't do something about this offense, the bull pen is not going to remain a problem. You can't hold a lead you don't have. And the offense is not in a slump. This is the offense! Back to topic. TR is not likely going to dump 3 pitchers he signed, in one season. I could see Stauffer. He will piddle through with Duensing because he just signed him for a year, and Boyers shine will take all most all year to wear off. At the most him and Fien will swap places.
  20. 3 on the Twins alone! Lol (well there used to be)
  21. There is no need for panic, or a pinch hitter. The meat of the order is up, we have em right where we want em. They just showed the Twins offensive highlights for the game. But I missed them, I was sneezing at the time.
  22. What's with Suzuki lately. His strongest point was catching/blocking poor pitches. There must have been five past him tonight!
